Robert Berkman, a blogger in New York, predicts the closing of the last Success Academy charter school (the Trump School) in 2020.
The last student, the last teacher, the last dollar, the last classroom ends in 2020, he says.
This was the inevitable result of the election of 2016, he writes.
In his blog, “Better Living Through Mathematics,” he uses his sharp wit to eviscerate corporate reform and its enablers.
He predicts an uprising through the democratic process in which voters take back their government from corporate interests.
It is a fable.

The end of the Obama presidency will go a long way to ending the assault/corp. reform on public education. I’ve stated this years ago. Obama is committed to charter schools and “reformers” such as John King Jr.

LOL… you have to go back a lot farther than that

Sure, Republicans wanted to get rid of public education for years along with every other program for the public good. But Obama accomplished what the Republicans could only dream about when it comes to public education. Obama even offered to cut social security COLA increases at one point. As I said here so many times before: “Duplicator”-in-Chief.

Obama wrote about his education reform plans and views in his Audacity book published in 2006. And it has come to pass, just as he described.

Lovely story. The best part:
“It is widely agreed that the first blow to SA, and the charter school movement as a whole, came with the election of President Bernie Sanders in 2016 and the ensuing 2018 mid-terms which led to the “Sanders’ Minions” taking control of both the House and Senate.”
Unfortunately it will not be this easy

How could someone so overall highly intelligent, like Obama, be so dumb when it comes to public education? Or is he just feathering his nest for his future ventures with the Wall Street and bankster crowd? It’s like he is walled of from the plethora of criticism and REAL research from actual educators in the trenches and only listens to his hedge fund and Wall Street associates about education reform. In the words of George Kastanza from the Seinfeld show, “DISAPPOINTED!”

He was chosen by both the wealthy D & R elite to pull the wool over our eyes. And, he did.

It was obvious soon after assuming the presidency that President Obama had very little in common with candidate Obama. Hence my description of him for years now: “Duplicitor”-in-Chief.

Donna,
No, the Obomber didn’t “pull the wool over OUR eyes”.
Some of us did our homework back in 08 and 12 and didn’t vote for either oligarchic party.

There were people who understood Obama from the beginning, and who should have been heeded, but Democratic voters were bedazzled and enthralled in 2008 (a fact well-understood by Obama’s Overclass funders throughout his career, and especially then), so facts and logic faced a near-hopeless task.
Political scientist Adolph Reed (who lived In Obama’s legislative district) nailed his political character twenty years (!) ago, writing that “… a smooth Harvard lawyer with impeccable do-good credentials and vacuous-to-represssive neoliberal politics has won a state senate seat on a base mainly in the foundation and development worlds.”
Combine (as Brand Obama seamlessly does) “vacuous-to-repressive neoliberal politics” with “a base in the foundation and development worlds,” and you have a tidy answer to why Obama has shilled so reliably for so-called education reform, and especially charter schools, which marry repressive treatment of urban youth with real estate opportunities
Additionally, the late author and independent Left activist Robert Fisk, in a speech to the Harlem Tenants Association immediately after the 2008 election, gave a detailed taxonomy of Obama’s career and interests served: (https://bigham.wordpress.com/2014/04/03/the-late-robert-fitch-on-obama-the-change-they-believe-in/
