Gates’ “support” usually implies more paternalistic interloping from Gates and his brainwashed team. It is impossible to improve that which someone rejects. Gates has no respect for bricks and mortar schools and human teachers. Making a deal with Gates is like making a deal with the devil, and the devil is in the details. His largesse is more like seed money to gain access to the mountain of money spent on public schools as if his own mountain isn’t large enough. Shame on the reckless politicians that open the gates for his Trojan horse. The arrogant Gates wants to remake education to suit his own end. American public education which has been a cornerstone of democracy is in the way of his vision. Our students are rats for his bold, blind experiments. Our children deserve more than trial, error and endless testing.

I guess if you are a coder, education is simply something that needs to be coded. People and students aren’t rubic’s cubes. Education is more than data input and output. Gates Foundation Corporate bubble needs to be torn down and rebuilt with a scale version of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood on the site.
Enough of Gates Foundation’s money!
The teachers and parents’ protest of Eli Broad outside of his new museum/tax shelter was surprisingly effective. Broad is now setting up satellite foundations to distance his attacks on the people of Los Angeles from the Broad Foundation. He is distancing himself from himself. We all hate him, and at least he knows it.
We need something similar to dissuade the public from buying into Gates’ manufactured, Teflon coated reputation. There is too much ignorance of Gates’ secret deal making. If we don’t, we’ll all soon rely on the Internet for everything from education to currency.
