Sigh of relief but apprehension about who comes next….
Sadly, these days, the devil you know seems to be better than the devil you don’t”.
But itf its gotten too bad, even for Tisch, can you imagine what is coming?!
it’s….oops
When did you start writing for The Onion, Diane? Hope it pays well!
Thankfully, this one isn’t from The Onion!
From the article:
“Tisch ended her brief statement with “let’s go Mets,” a salute to the National League champs as they prepare to face the Kansas City Royals in the World Series on Tuesday.”
Just another in a long list of reasons to eschew her, eh! Pond scum is as pond scum does.
Perhaps she can bring grit and rigor to the Mets…as they take their swings at robotic mechanical pitchers that throw at at least 110 miles per hour, and pitchers forced to throw at a strike zone twelve inches high by twelve inches wide, as they throw from 80′ 8″ away as she paves the way for consultants to steer mor money from the fans, citing the strengthening of “baseball and career readiness”. And “internationally” or even intergalactically benchmarked.
Then she can go after the baseball players and they can be ranked as “highly effective, effective, developing, or ineffective”.
Then each baseball player could have their own ranking on a scale of 1-100 to demonstrate “growth”, and the bottom 7% of those scored can be terminated based on their stacking and ranking.
Ms Tisch…the Standardization Princess…coming to a ballpark near you!
To me, her flippant comment about the Mets means she’s checked out and doesn’t give a rat’s — anymore. She’s surely saving herself from the next round of embarrassing test refusals that are sure to come.
Wow, I guess she’s just reg’lar folks, like you and me.
Except, of course, that her family fortune is based on peddling tobacco, and that she’s spent the past twenty years making the lives of teachers miserable and undermining the public schools.
Other than, why yessir, she’s just plain folks…
When ever they “step down,” the situation becomes worse!
There is a God and he heard us!!!
Tisch prolly wants to spend more time with Michelle Rhee’s family.
TAGO!
Or Campbell Brown’s
Eeew, gross…
She’s too old.
The magnificent Opt-Out parents’ movement in NY has put authorities back on their heels, on the defensive, scrambling to stick fingers in the dike. Politicians in NY and elsewhere lose command and legitimacy b/c of anger and alienation of so many voting parents, poses threat to their ability to campaign for Hillary.
Inept, arrogant NY State Comm. King was forced out and kicked upstairs as a place-holder for the destructive Duncan, replaced in NY by Elia who is a sacrificial lamb hired to take abuse until govt. can figure out what to do with CCSS/PARCC and the parent rebellion. Derangement of big-budget top by low-budget bottom now includes Tisch stepping down. She can’t resolve the impasse. Shuffling players amounts to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
Opposition from below is making progress but still has long way to go, need many more families refusing the tests, more teachers vocal in opposition. Parent refusals by themselves may yet turn the tide and rescue public education if it grows, despite the huge obstacle of crony leaders in the teacher unions, Randi, Lily, Mulgrew, whose stranglehold on teachers and singular interest in electing Hillary undermines the defense of public schools.
With all due respect for the above commenters, I am struck by this latest entry into the “Dance of the Lemons.”
If she is like so many of her peers, she will simply find a new venue in which to impose the toxicities of self-styled “education reform.”
And just like John Deasy or Michelle Rhee she won’t be around to face the music—no accountability, no responsibility.
For the $tudent $ucce$$ crowd, bidness as usual.
😎
Maybe Michelle needs a second in command for her fertilizer operations.
Roger Tilles is dancing somewhere right now. That fraud has been positioning himself for this position. It’s the reason he voted yes back in September even though publicly he said he opposed everything wrong in NY. It’s only a matter of time before we hear his name which will continue the assault on NY public education.
In her first year as chancellor, while speaking to superintendents in Rochester, she had to be corrected in mid-speech that teachers in NY do get tenure. She didn’t know. No joke.
Cuomo probably asked her to. He will try to recover this debacle by blaming Tisch and King, his former henchpeople…
Remove her now–she has already done so much damage to public education that one must conclude she has been a saboteur! David Steiner–her first selection as Commissioner took travel money from Pearson in return for signing a $32M contract with Pearson. John King, her second Commissioner was laughed out of Albany. Her most recent choice for Commissioner had a terrible record in Florida for mismanagement. Now she is promising to rebrand the failed Common Core! This morning Siena Poll shows most NY residents believe the Core is negative or of no value–why keep throwing good money after bad. She must go now!.
A rat deserting the (sinking) USS Cuomo?
. . . or was she made to walk the plank?
I do believe she can read the writing on the wall: Epic Fail
Isn’t it interesting how the deformist powers that be are all resigning, retracting or doing quasi mea culpas? I’m imagining a parallel universe Atlas Shrugged convention of reformers planning their next nefarious plots somewhere in a palatial winter home tucked away in the Rockies. CREEPY- Happy Halloween!
“parallel universe”. Petrilli, appearing to blame poverty for
lower NAEP scores (USA Today), while Fordham is funded by the wage-suppressing Waltons,
Noblesse oblige is dead, People. Is this the thanks Antoinette gets?
Shelly’s gone. So’s King John,
Her patron and her buffer.
After 20 years, she sheds no tears
For the kids she caused to suffer.
The imperious Rege quits under siege
The position she disgraced.
Soon she’ll be lecturing at TC,
An expert on all she debased.
The timing is no surprise. When “sh” starts to hit the fan, those in power leave (or at least get promoted to positions elsewhere) so as to remain all teflon when the blame gets circulating!
