Sometimes, people have to retire to speak candidly. A reader in Néw York left this comment:
“I am a retired Superintendent. If my kids were still in school they would not waste their time taking these tests–and I would encourage the friends of their parents to have their children opt out. These are terrible assessments that are used for very inappropriate purposes. Do not feed the Tisch/Cuomo testing machine–take your child to a museum when other kids are being tested–and make clear to administrators that under no circumstances are your kids to be taken out of class for make up exams!”

Yes, yes and yes.
Retired teachers can also speak out about these tests.
Teachers who are also parents who have school age children can speak out against them as parent, as well!! Many teachers are parents.
My daughter works in NYC schools, they are forbidden to speak about the tests.
Her children will be going to school in Long Island very soon and she can and will opt out and speak out, in their school district.

Teachers can speak out to their friends, neighbors, strangers standing in line at supermarkets etc. They don’t have to do it where they work. Get involved as a taxpayer in the school district in which you live.

Wasn’t that Albert Speer’s story?
(I now call Godwin’s law on myself.)

Its sad when teachers are not allowed to speak freely about the testing process. What are we teaching our children when we silence those that are educating them?

To L. Evanko;
Do you mean that “WE” who bow to corrupted politicians and greedy corporations together to SILENCE teachers?
Not from 19 millions of viewers in this website including in the “WE” who silence those that are educating our children.
In this website, we cultivate and share idea of how to “”REFORM”” those CORRUPTED politicians, greedy corporations, GAGAs union leaders, and most of all to inform parents and student their democratic or civility RIGHT to OPT OUT INVALID testing scheme.
I hope that I do not misunderstand your last sentence. back2basic
