Just saw it and RTd. When on Twitter chats am always amazed how many educators talk about RIGOR and when questioned go to GRIT. What we want is to instill in our students is an eagerness to learn, with passion, initiative and risk taking. But the focus unfortunately has been on testing: teaching and learning for the test. Need to rethink. Would that could be a new year’s resolution for 2015.

But in this era of repurposing and recycling to help save the environment, I would think this same gleaming white commode should double as a place Obama and wife, Duncan, the Gateses, the Waltons, the Broads, Bloomberg, Klein, and the dirty faced Kochs should plunge their heads into for a facial treatment no spa could ever dream of giving . . . . . .

Thank you. I’m sick of hearing it out of educators mouths. It’s like somehow they are “cool hipsters.” How about support and funding to meet the needs of our multi-talented students and staff.

“Rigor and grit” are two words that perfectly describe the efforts that the destroyers of public education use to get rich and powerful at the 1) expense of the American taxpayer and 2) theft of the American public education system and its students, and 3) peril of the United States.
