Are you saying we should unload the Department of Education? If you are, I have a good reason to do so. Some time ago I filed a FOIA request with the DOE requesting that they tell me how many teachers were employed by the department. The answer came back that they didn’t know, but the implication was that there were very few, if any. How can an agency which employs no teachers give direction to the educators of the nation’s children?

George, how could bonehead Arne Duncan be the High Priest of the DOE? He wasn’t qualified in Chicago, and he isn’t qualified in Washington.

Apparently neither is anyone else in DOE.

A limerick including Nantucket comes to mind for Arne, but I’ll spare us all and let the imaginations fly.

Okay Donna let us do a “twisted” version of the Hoboken limerick ….
There once was an Ed Czar of DC
Who claimed education was broken
While riding high down “ed reform lane”
I think education was broken
From all his damn poking!

There are some Bennett loyalist in Indiana in administrative positions who are creating more of the same chaos in the local school districts. Of course the group wants to sabotage the local public school district and bring in more charters under the guise of turnaround. In fact they are still talking Common Core even after Indiana voted against the Common Core.
