G.F. Brandenburg writes here about what then-D.C. Chancellor Michelle Rhee in exchange for $64.5 million. She would have the power to fire any teacher anytime, and she would get great results. Brandenburg says Rhee and Henderson didn’t meet the goals he checked. Will they give the money back?
Brandenburg is researching all the promises. Here are some more of his findings. See here and here and here and here, and here.
There were 78 goals. Brandenburg is researching all of them. This is an ongoing series and there is more to come.

Man, you know the Rheeject, or is that J-ject, is really losing influence when this post has no responses yet. It used to be that having Rhee’s name in the title of the post was guaranteed to ensure at least an 80-100 response post.
Bye, bye Rheeject or is that RJ????

They didn’t get what they ostensibly were paying for but they sure got their money’s worth. The beachhead for the assault on public education was established but is being poorly supplied and even more poorly managed. Reminds me somewhat of the invasion of Iraq based on the nonexistent WMD’s. Big promises to those at home of being welcomed as liberators while the wrongheaded policy and it’s pathetically botched implementation created a steadily growing opposition. Meanwhile those in the trenches keep fighting in spite of the mess poured down from above.

So she is now her husband’s representative in meetings in Sacramento, CA and arguing that the citizens of the City of Sacramento should change their city charter to a “strong mayor” structure that her husband advocates, taking city governance away from a city council.
