Education Rallies Across the State
Join Public Schools First NC, Progress NC and the NCAE as we head across the state to rally in support of our public schools.
We need to set the record straight and hold lawmakers accountable for what they did to public education this year. The public needs the facts, not misleading talking points designed to side step the harmful cuts to public education.
They have set our public schools on a path to destruction. Let your fellow North Carolinians know the truth! Attend one of the events below and please wear red in solidarity with NC’s amazing public school teachers!

I am glad to see Bob Etheridge getting in on this.
He was the state sup when I was in high school. I shook his hand, as he spoke at the Governor’s School in 1989 (where I met my husband).
I had worried he had irreparably hurt his career, but snapping at a photographer (or whatever it was he did on a bad day) does not take away his moderate, common sense approach to education.
Thank goodness!
I hope the ALEC factor is made known.
I also hope that Arne Duncan’s agenda is made known.
Then, let whichever party can be true to public schools present new leadership.
I did stand up, and left after 6 years. Found a job in another state, one that appreciates me, treats me & pays me like a professional.
Amber, many are following you. It’s a tragedy what’s happening in North Carolina. I have given serious thought to leaving, but the children of NC deserve excellent educators. I hope many will stay to fight for public education, fight for the children of North Carolina. Many will!
Thank you, Diane and all other public school allies for supporting public school education in North Carolina!
“Take every crazy angry idea your drunk right-wing uncle mumbles at Thanksgiving, turn it into a law, and that’s North Carolina today,”
-Bill Maher
Right on!
Please keep up your good work! Our children are our future.
GO NORTH CAROLINA!!!! I wish that every person in the state would turn out to support this! Other states having similar troubles need too follow along. We all followed each other along when signing on to Common Core; now its time to follow each other along reclaiming sane practices in the world of education.
I say every politician and taxpayer needs to come into our schools and see what they’ve left us with. Here’s my request for them to walk in our shoes: https://eduscribble.wordpress.com/2013/08/03/in-our-shoes/
I was in attendance at the Greenville location. I left feeling a great sense of despair. I was appalled at how few people actually attended. Who were the speakers talking to…the media? I am not sure why people did not show up but would love to know WHY?
