Philadelphia journalist Will Bunch connects lots of dots: school closings in Philadelphia, the senseless killing of a black teen in Brooklyn, obscene income inequality, a new high in the stock market.
When people are disrespected and unheard, they explode.

The inequality story is completely shameful and getting worse. The 1% impose austerity on everyone except themselves. Now, major corps. in America have $4.75TRILLION dollars in cash on hand, but they won’t pay their share of taxes, won’t hire new employees or give wage increases to staff which could life the economy, and won’t invest in expansion, while demanding more H1 and H2 visas to bring in cheap labor tech workers for jobs here. Only a mass movement will compel the corp. class to end the faux austerity, which includes closing pub schls in favor of pvt charters and cheaper tchrs who work longer hrs. An uproar over this is long overdue.

Like opiates, amphetamines, thc, alcohol, sugar, caffeine, etc. the human brain quickly thinks more is better. The user’s code of ethics decreases as the habit increases. Thus what is happening with corporations and politicians. Political awakening is a downer, but students, parents, traditional teachers, civil rights educators, politicians with a conscience, must stand together. If we fail to do this, young Americans will pay the price, and so will the U.S.A.
