Last week, he called an African American may “boy” at a Paterson town hall:
Christie did this while trying to convince the people in attendance that he was their man because he was pushing a voucher scheme that was going to help low-income black children.
Maybe the Governor forgets his very personal interest in the learning disabled of NJ.
As a Dyslexic himself who cares deeply about the misunderstanding by the public, and yes, even the education community that people with learning disabilities, such as Dyslexia, are average, above, and gifted learners (like himself) and can learn but need trained teachers and good programs for them to learn. They need to be identified early and need respect for their ability to learn. These are the students who are being left behind by the reformers, the charters, as not being the added value learners/students that they are looking to sort out for their purposes and uses.
Siphoning the money from the public schools where there is open enrollment and a mandate to teach these learners is a travesty and a betrayal by our countries ideals and even legal committments. If anything, Governor Kean should be fighting to make our public schools better not abandon them. I think he does not understand that a public charter does not mean inclusive. It is confusing and it is just that confusion that has made it so much easier for this movement to destroy the public school system. Why it has gotten ignorant approval from some and a disgraceful greed or intellectually elite nod from others. This is a bi-partisan initiative on a slippery slope to hell for tens of thousands to millions of our citizens, our precious children.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the link and realized it was not about Connecticut’s very own “DINO Dan” Malloy, the man who hates greedy union members, but condones illegal payments to cronies in the name of “rheeform”.
How about our current Governor, Chris Christie?

How would vouchers help them? By taking lots of money from their public schools to pay for all-white, religious Yeshivas in heavily Orthodox Lakewood, NJ. http://schoolfinance101.wordpress.com/2012/03/22/revisiting-njosa-the-lakewood-effect/

I think Jindal will take over that title when he becomes ex. Hopefully he won’t become the most incoherent ex-president. America beware.
