According to Connecticut blogger Jonathan Pelto, CNN has severed its relationship with Dr. Steve Perry.
Dr. Perry became best known for his putdown of teaches and unions, as well as his claims about his own miraculous achievements as director of a magnet school in Hartford.
Pelto does a good job deconstructing those claims.
Jersey Jazzman deconstructed his claims last year in multiple posts. See here. And here. And here.
Could it be that CNN executives read Jersey Jazzman?

I heard it wasn’t a “good fit”.

He’s going to have to put that cap and gown– the one that sits in the background as he pontificates–in storage. I just might start watching CNN again if they have truly dumped him.

Diane — you are doing such a phenomenal job. We will be stepping up our involvement in the reformy fray very shortly for 2013… ________________________________

I wrote to CNN about that blithering Perry and others likely did too. He’s the stereotypical ed hustler who’s main goal is probably lining his pockets. And I’ll bet he can’t even do basic algebra.

Who could possibly be backing this guy? I know that the corporates are buying blacks now, but Cory Booker has some class at least!

He is one of the reasons I stopped watching CNN. He is the living example of the Edushyster in the charter movement. The cap and gown prop was particularly cheesy.

All networks have to purge periodically. This is a good first step for CNN to restore some sense of credibility. Now, if they can dump Erin Burnett and never resign Campbell Brown, I may start to watch again.

I loved his work in Journey. 😛 😉

CNN will be much better off without him.

This could be part of an overhaul of CNN in the wake of the resignation (or simply stepping down–not sure which) of Worldwide CNN President Jim Walton. Should a new day be dawning at CNN (beginning with a PROPER interview with Diane!), I will be happy to watch yet again. BTW, I believe PBS is doing its Tuesday, January 8th “Frontline” on Michelle Rhee.
