I attended that meeting. There was almost no discussion on the compact itself. No talk about how the curriculum would be changed, that a newly formed organization would make major decisions on school funding, untried teacher evaluations implemented, school closings, etc. It was all about charters, which is only one facet of the compact.
Make sure you look closely at any Gates compact which has been signed, or is about to be signed, in your city or district.

Bill Gates, please go back to Washington. Why do you feel it necessary to try to control the people who live in areas of the country where you don’t reside? Why do you ignore the will of the people who actually live and work in a district?
