Florida legislators king to expand vouchers, even though the voters turned down an effort in 2012 to change the state constitution to permit vouchers for religious schools. The
measure was defeated 58-42, despite Jeb Bush’s efforts to pass it.
An earlier voucher program was struck down as unconstitutional by
the state courts. The only current voucher program is for students
with disabilities, called the McKay Scholarship Program. A journalistic
exposé called it a “cottage industry” of fraud. the
writer won a major national award for this story from his
colleagues. Yet legislators want more.
The good news–for the moment–is that parents and teachers recently beat back the latest attempt to give away public money to religious schools. But be vigilant. Jeb & Co. will be back.
You can bet on it that they will not give up.
For instance, The Walton family has been at this since the 1970s and maybe earlier. They just keep coming back and when they lost with the voters after many expensive political campaigns, they turned to getting representatives and governors elected who will push their agenda through stealth campaigns.
The Koch brothers are doing the same thing and so is Bill Gates.
I wonder how much the Walton family has spent to spread their influence and political/religious agendas.
These rich folks have nothing else to do except mess with others. They need to do HARD LABOR like those they hire and pay them a non-living wage.

“The only current voucher program is for students
with disabilities, called the McKay Scholarship Program”
Why are you still saying this? The debate is whether to expand a program called the Tax Credit Scholarship that was established in 2001, which means that McKay is NOT the “only current voucher program” in Florida.
You also continue to ignore the scholarly evidence, all of which shows that the Tax Credit Scholarship so far has helped both the kids who participate AND the public schools as well.
