And special thanks should go to Ken Derstine for doing the great work in assembling all the news in one place for us. He has a sharp eye for the key issues, and does a great job pulling all this together. Rob Perry did a great job as well, in helping turn this into a very readable format for our website.
I have “unsubscribed” several times and continue to get these emails. I like the blog but feel there are too many emails each day. Any assistance you can give me to unsubscribe would be appreciated.
Thanks for the link to the web site of The Network for Public Education. It lead me to a story about an especially nasty strike situation in Strongsville, Ohio. Teachers have been on strike for nearly two months in Strongsville, Ohio. Dear Lord, two months, I was once on strike for 5 days and that was bad enough. There I was holding up a strike sign while one of our fellow teachers crossed the picket line. Fortunately, the scabs were rare and 99% of the teachers kept together. I cannot even imagine being on strike for 2 months. Needless to say, the comments at the Strongsville Patch web site were quite vicious against the teachers. Even on a normal non-strike day, the comments against teachers and especially teacher unions are quite abundant. I wish the teachers the best of luck.
