Coach Bob Sikes reports:
“Floridians have not witnessed such an avalanche of legislation intended to shift tax payer dollars which once went to public schools to the education for profit industry.”
Charter industry supporters said they wanted to “ease the financial burden on charter schools.”
State funding will be very generous to for-profit charter corporations. One of the most successful at winning public money is Charter Schhools USA, headed by former Commissioner of Education Jim Horne, who is close to Jeb Bush.
Maybe it will be an incentive for public schools to support their students more. Starting with smaller class size for middle and high…It’s got to be said.
How exactly are we supposed to do that with fewer teacher, reduced budgets, and fewer resources? Let’s not forget the money spent on testing, and the coming budget busting common core which the privateers will exempt themselves or siphon off more money from the public schools.
Democrats and Republicans are in bed together on privatizing schools. Corporations are the masters and that makes us a fascist country in reality. It is soooooo easy to buy these politicians and cheap considering the gains to be made. So, looking at it from a business perspective, very small cost of doing business for large gains is their mantra.
