You earlier read the press release from the National School Boards Association here, reasserting the importance of federalism, a concept unknown to the U.S. Department of Education these days.
Here is a great summary and a link to the NSBA’s proposed legislation, which tells the federal government to abide by its federal role–not as the boss of the nation’s schools, but as a support.

A 100 foot wave of REAL education reform is rising out of the ocean.
They still don’t get it. There is NO need for support from the US DOE. When you create a monster, this is what you get! Check the 10th Amend. there is NO need for the US DOE. The US DOE does not trust you. They don’t trust teachers. They don’t trust schools. They don’t trust parents.
What everyone needs to do is go back to trusting the local communities. Let the Schools, teachers and parents control the local districts. Now they answer to the Feds and State DOEs.
You can’t expect to empower elitists and then NOT abuse their power.
