Any article about Michelle Rhee published by the Atlantic Media Company should disclose Rhee’s extremely close ties to AMC’s CEO and owner, and his wife (David and Katherine Bradley).
The Bradleys hosted Rhee at their Massachusetts Heights home three times between January 2008 and March 2009, and it is extremely likely that there were additional times after that.

It was also Katherine Bradley who, in 2010, ponied up the $100,000 fee for Anita Dunn’s PR to help improve the image of the intensely disliked Michelle Rhee.

You beat me to it. She is also part of the reason why DC’s mayor stayed the course with Rhee’s education policies, despite the $1 million that the AFT and WTU pumped into his election. Check out her bio at the bottom of this link. ‘Nuff said.
Diane, around 2009 every time I logged on to the NY Times there were ads touting “KeepGreatTeachers.org”. These ads were promoting the disregard of seniority in the event of teacher lay-offs in NYC as part of the goals I assume for RttT money. At the time a google search of the phone number produced several names, Knapp, Dunne, SKD Knickerbocker. There was no separate organization for KeepGreatTeachers.org. Also the name given to ask for at that phone number was an employee of SKD. As I’m sure you know Knapp belongs to William Knapp and of course Dunne is Anita Dunne and both were listed as principals of the PR firm SKD. A Wikipedia search revealed at the time that Anita Dunne was Obama’s communications director and is married to Robert Bauer who was or may still be Chief White House Legal Counsel and the Presidents personal legal advisor. It’s obvious at least to me that the Obama administration was duplicitous in its dealings with teachers. Candidate Obama said all the right things while President Obama produced policies that resulted in a full scale full frontal assault on public school teachers that Republicans could only have dreamed about. As much as I want to vote against Obama I find the Republicans so odious that I may vote for an independent candidate.
Here’s an interview on WAMU-FM (AU’s public radio) Katherine talks about a teacher who inspired her at a Luthern School. Note the glamor shot.

Mrs. Bradley serves as a board member for America’s Promise Alliance, the KIPP Foundation, Fight for Children, and Princeton University, and she chairs the Washington regional board for Teach for America. In the winter of 2010-2011, Mrs. Bradley co-chaired Mayor Vincent C. Gray’s education transition team. She graduated with honors in 1986 from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Katherine and David Bradley have three high school and college-age sons.
It’s so sad to see the venerable Atlantic used as a PR mouthpiece. Some of my favorite authors like:Twain. Stowe, Emerson and Hemingway must be spinning in their grave.
