Technically it was Reality TV, but according to Omarosa, it was scripted for him and he was given a monitor with lines to read, including on his phone in the board room –where he famously said, “You’re fired!” He did not decide that himself, and I guess you could say he was performing (but I think that’s giving him too much credit.)
From the “Internets:” Volodymyr Zelenskyy was a comedian and actor before becoming the president of Ukraine. He gained fame for his role in the TV series “Servant of the People,” where he played a teacher who unexpectedly becomes president. end quote
Diane, Hatikvah, which means The Hope, is the slow, serious, somber and very moving national anthem of Israel. Did you mean Hava Nagila, which means Let’s Rejoice, is very up beat, sung and danced to at holiday festivals, Bar Mitvah celebrations, weddings etc, such as here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9NPKogQiI4
No problem, Diane! It’s an easy mistake to make, especially if your Hebrew is rusty (as mine is too). It just struck me immediately as being irreverent towards HaTikvah –a song that brings tears to many people’s eyes– and Hava Nagelia made more sense to me. Thanks for the clarification!
We should elect a comedian.

We did elect a performer. But he has no wit, no humor and lots of rage and bile.

There is a famous (infamous) skit where Zelensky and his friends play “Hatikva” using only their penises (unseen).

I just read the credits at the end if the two videos of HaTikvah and, quite by accident, they were both created by Jews for Jesus!
