Josh Cowen interviewed me by email about my life, after reading my book An Education: How I Changed My Mind About Schools and Almost Everything Else.
I think you will enjoy reading the interview.
He asks important questions about me and changes in my life.

I find it interesting that your ex was hostile to feminism and was homophobic. It reminded me that the French Philosophes shared the hostility to feminism and the revolutionary movement felt so threatened by Olympia D Gouges that she went to the national razor like other opponents of the Jacobins.
Perhaps our human habit of putting humans in baskets and assuming they all share certain ideas is a fundamental human weakness.

Once again, having parents your same age, you feel very close to me. And, I am impressed on how you metacognate. My mother-in-law was sharp and no one dared play her in Scrabble. In addition, what I have learned, we all seem to follow a path of what were are groomed to think and do until one day you realize, “I don’t feel that way.” I love that you followed your heart and soul to find “your truth.” Way to go! As I reflect on my life’s journey there’s a lot of BS that I thought was right, until I realized it wasn’t. Bless you and yours this Thanksgiving.

An amazing and enlightening interview of a very multifaceted and multi talented individual, Diane Ravitch.
Feminism, otherwise known as human rights. Women for generations, worldwide were dumped into a box, a sort of societal straitjacket. Things have improved greatly in most of the industrially advanced societies, but not so in Afghanistan for instance. Women are treated hideously, not even as sentient human beings, it’s appalling beyond words.
