As the controversy over Trump’s relationship to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein turned into a media frenzy, members of Trump’s team threw distractions into the mix. One of them came from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. She released a report calling for prosecution of high-level Obama-era officials for what she called “treasonous conspiracy” about Russian interference in the 2016 campaign. She ignored a three-year investigation by a Republican-led Senate Committee, which concluded that Russia did try to influence the 2016 election in Trump’s favor.
Politico posted:
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard called for several Obama administration officials to face criminal prosecution for participating in a “treasonous conspiracy” surrounding the 2016 election on Friday afternoon, the latest example of the Trump administration targeting critics of the president.
In a newly declassified report, Gabbard on Friday alleged the officials “manipulated and withheld” key intelligence from the public related to the possibility of Russian interference in the election.
In a Friday afternoon statement, Gabbard said she would provide all related documents to the Justice Department “to deliver the accountability that President [Donald] Trump, his family, and the American people deserve.”
“No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again,” Gabbard said in the statement.
The DOJ declined to comment on Gabbard’s comments.
The ODNI’s memo names former DNI James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, among others allegedly involved in the White House’s review of possible Russian meddling in the election.
The administration has routinely targeted critics of the president and has sought to relitigate the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. The president has repeatedly criticized former intelligence officials for their efforts to probe the Kremlin’s possible attempts to interfere in American politics, with Trump accusing Comey of leading a “corrupt and vicious witch hunt” against him.

Pardon me, but this is unf….ing believable! On second thought it is not this is another tactic to take the attention off of T’s troubles and his predatory behaviour that was on display prior to his running in 2016. The grabbing of women’s private parts, etc. and yet these people such as Tulsi Gabbard are just an insult to all the victims of sexual predators and sleazy business men and women everywhere. Have they been threatened by T, or their silence has been bought? I believe there is definitely a combination of threats, lies, intimidation, and of course money being used to keep the line of silence. I send all the support I can to those who are standing up for what is right, thank you Diane for sharing this information and for all of the truth tellers. Justice must prevail or else all is lost for humanity, freedom of speech and democracy.

Oh, how I wish this were to happen! Imagine … show trials! I can’t think of a better way to show up this administration for what it is.

Gabbert is trying to stir up controversy because she has been sidelined since she disagreed with the MAGA team over bombing Iran. She is trying to work her way back into their good graces by attacking Obama, which will please the orange menace. BTW if democrats brought charges for every investigation against democrats from Benghazi until today, they would never get out of court.

When the GOP are floundering, their default setting is to blame and investigate democrats. It’s the ultimate distraction.

You can’t write this stuff because you no longer have to. Colbert, Comey, Clapper,(Ms.) Comey – all brought down by the Donvict. These events all paint a grim picture of increasingly muting left-wing voices and any who would interrogate high levels of power. How long until I log onto this blog only to find a charter school advocacy site? Or maybe be a Steven Miller crypto currency grift? All Republican accusations are confessions. Gabbard is the actual traitor who weakens and politicizes our intel to the delight of her lunchmate Putin. Patel can continue eviscerating the FBI while Linda McMahon brings her Flying Dutchman down on the nation’s poor and vulnerable. Good work MAGAs. Are we great yet? Fascism is here soiling our republic, waddling about on edemic ankles, barking hate into the bullhorn and groping our flag like it’s E. Jean Carroll all while sporting an inverted Bible. I will keep voting intelligent, accomplished, empathetic women over a creepy compromised decomposing insurrectionist every time.

Callisto,
Powerful and accurate.
Ironic to have Tulsi G. complaining about treason when she is a known pal of Putin and Assad, the former dictator of Syria.

Twitter lit up with comments by top Trump appointees and fellow travelers that Tulsi Gabbard “proved” that the FBI’s Investigation of Trump’s collusion with Russia was a hoax. That Obama did it. That Obama should be on trial for treason.
No mention of the Republican-led Senate Committee that concluded that Russia tried to help Trump in 2016.
No mention of Trump pandering to Putin.

”Russian interference” had no effect on the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

The Supreme Court’s recent ruling in made it clear that presidents are immune from prosecution for official acts. If Obama’s top people were acting under his orders during the Russiagate investigation, they’re likely shielded too. You can’t claim the president is immune and then go after his subordinates for doing what he told them to do. Tulsi Gabbard’s accusations collapse under the very precedent that now protects Trump. Of course this Supreme Court has a way of ignoring legal precedent.
