Trump will leave no independent board untouched by his political venom, as he demonstrated by his hostile takeover of the Kennedy Center, where he removed every Biden appointee and replaced a bipartisan board with an all-Trump board. He also removed the nonpartisan director of the Kennedy Center and replaced her with a Trump loyalist. And he named himself President of the Kennedy Center.
Now he has removed all Biden appointees on the board of the Holocaust Museum, including Doug Emhoff, husband of former Vice-President Kamala Harris, who was in the first year of a five-year term. Emhoff is Jewish.
The Trump administration has begun firing at least some of former President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s appointees to the board that oversees the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, including Douglas Emhoff, the husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris, and other senior Biden White House officials.
“Today, I was informed of my removal from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council,” Mr. Emhoff said in a statement on Tuesday. “Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized. To turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous — and it dishonors the memory of six million Jews murdered by Nazis that this museum was created to preserve.”
Mr. Emhoff is Jewish and an outspoken critic of the rise in antisemitism. His appointment to the council was announced in January; presidential appointments are typically five-year terms.
The other officials who were dismissed include Ron Klain, Mr. Biden’s first chief of staff; Tom Perez, the former labor secretary and senior adviser to Mr. Biden; Susan Rice, the national security adviser to former President Barack Obama and Mr. Biden’s top domestic policy adviser who led a major national strategic effort to counter antisemitism; and Anthony Bernal, a senior adviser to Jill Biden, the former first lady.

And that “me” is a malignant narcissist. which means he is also a sadist, who enjoys making other people suffer. The more people that suffer, the higher his rush of deranged satisfaction. This helps explain why he hates the legal system and the U.S. Constitution because they limit what “he” can do.
On top of all that, he is willingly extremely ignorant of almost everything and unwilling to learn. Instead, he is having history rewritten and science deleted that would prove whatever he wants to think is wrong.
Imagine the rush he’ll get if he succeeds in starting a nuclear World War III that ends up killing billions and causing the survivors to suffer horribly for the rest of their lives.

I am not Jewish but I have Jewish ancestors who were killed in the Holocaust. My father was a Jew, born in Hungary, and my saintly grandmother, was also born in Hungary.
My father had 2 cousins, Herman and Charlotte Stern, who were very little children when they were made to watch as their parents were put into the ovens. I suspect that the cousins survived only because the war ended.
I once saw the numbers that were tattooed on Herman’s left arm. Even very little children were subjected to that atrocity.
If we don’t fight against the dictatorial, inhumane, cruel workings of the Trump Empire, bad things can happen here too and have already occurred. It is Jews and all “Others” who have been suffering and will continue to suffer.
I am also an Italian American on my mother’s side. They too have been subjects of horrible discrimination here for more than 100 years. It is hard to find a film or tv show, even now, which shows an Italian American in a good light.
In 1891, 11 innocent Italian Americans were lynched in Louisiana. A mob broke into the jail where they were being held and killed them all. Outside there were thousands more protesters.

I was trying to reply to your suggestion about the Mother Cabrini film. It seems that I have somehow messed up my PW. So here is my reply. I made a mistake when I used the word “tattooed” when referring to the numbers on Herman’s arm. It was much worse. He was branded.
Thanks for the reminder about Mother Cabrini. We learned all about her in Catholic schools. I really wanted to see the movie, but I have been limited in my time and in the distances I can drive while I recuperate from a fractured humerus, which was surgically repaired.
But I wasn’t allowed to drive for 3 1/2 months and I’m still going to PT 3x/week. I also spent many days in recent months going to rescheduled (just routine things) dr. appts. which had to be cancelled last Fall.
I hope that I will eventually be able to watch the Mother Cabrini film.

Trump is a selfish, petty man.
Previous presidents of both parties accepted that bipartisan appointments are good. Not Trump. He would send every Democrat to the El Salvador prison if he could get away with it.
