A maxim: Where Trump goes, chaos reigns.
The across-the-board federal funding freeze imposed by the Trump administration was withdrawn, according to this report at MSNBC.
The freeze was announced, then modified, and today it was withdrawn. It caused widespread chaos, as numerous programs were confused about whether or not they had funding. Red states, where federal funding is concentrated, were hit hardest.
The New York Times added details:
Grant freeze: The White House rescinded an order on Wednesday that froze trillions of dollars in federal grants and loans and sparked mass confusion across the country, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the matter. A federal judge had temporarily blocked it on Tuesday…
The initial directive interrupted the Medicaid system that provides health care to millions of low-income Americans and sent schools, hospitals, nonprofits, research companies and law enforcement agencies scrambling to understand if they had lost their financial support from the federal government.
A federal judge in the District of Columbia on Tuesday afternoon temporarily blocked the order in response to a lawsuit filed by Democracy Forward, a liberal organization that argued that the directive violated the First Amendment and a law governing how executive orders are to be rolled out.
On Wednesday, Matthew J. Vaeth, the acting director for the Office of Management and Budget, sent a notification to federal agencies notifying them that memo freezing aid had been “rescinded.”
“If you have questions about implementing the President’s executive orders, please contact your agency general counsel,” Mr. Vaeth said in the notification.

Red states were hit the hardest. (No surprise.)
Now I have slightly mixed feelings. Just kidding.
Though it would have been fulfilled an early wish I have for Trump voters.

Yes, the red states are subsidized by blue states. Let them go a few weeks without the federal funds paid by states like California, NY, Minnesota.

They are relentless, however, and are probably reloading, only with a bigger kind of gun. CBK

Trump offer to 2 million civil service workers to take a buyout and resign will either open jobs for 2 million Trumpers or collapse the ability of the federal government to function.

Diane: And Trump can be trusted, of course, to hold up his end of the bargain. My tongue is going: blubablubablubabluba.
It’s as close to a guarantee as can be: If it’s something about the future., unless it benefits Trump by his “standards” and criteria, he’ll find a way to slip out of it. CBK

This is only the first of many upcoming knee jerk actions. They will send out a memo then rescind it a day later. Rinse, lather, repeat.
The workers who got that ‘buy out’ email are being advised to ignore it. It copies the exact way elon treated his Twitter workers, then reneged on it. Many are still in the courts fighting his pull the rug out from under the workers. Besides – there are no funds allocated from congress to implement a buy out. The rug will be pulled again if anybody goes along with it.

We can always depend on the malignant narcissist to act impulsively, without thinking through what the consequences of his words and actions will be, even when what he says and does are very likely to have negative impacts on millions and millions of people, as with COVID and what occurred this week. That’s probably not just because he’s incapable of recognizing the importance of thoughtfully planning ahead, weighing options and engaging in responsible decision making, but because first and foremost on his mind is Me, Me, Me and how whatever he does will promote himself.
Most people would see the job of being an American president as being a 24/7 position, but we are sure to see him slacking off a lot again, including relying on policies designed by others like Project 2025, delegating responsibilities and playing golf for nearly a year of his 4 year term (like in his first term). We can expect only his malignant narcissism to be working 24/7 and we just got a taste of that in spades.

A suggestion:
Where Trump goes, chaos reigns by design.
That’s what Roy Cohn taught him. FELON47 is organized as he sets out to spread chaos. When successful, the end goal always benefits the January 6, 2021, Traitor.
The malignant narcissist seldom misses an opportunity to spread the chaos further and deeper when something happens like natural disasters: hurricanes, tornadoes and firestorms caused by global warming and climate change.
He doesn’t treat them like natural disasters. That wouldn’t achieve more chaos.

Only one of a flurry of Trump EO’s issued during the past week—just the one that caused the most disruption. Given Trump’s “Gish gallop” tendencies, suggests we should keep our eyes on what else he has floated in the same few days that might pass under radar given this most disruptive one that directly impacted the public. He has halted all fed regulations in process in their tracks. Directed NIH may only study topics meeting his agenda, regardless of agency’s mission. Forbidden any fed agency from communicating with public for an undefined period. And this beaut, which is untouched by the Circuit Court’s injunction: all agencies must reassess disbursements of grants and loans in light of Trump EO’s conveying his political agenda: although implementing Congressional will, these disbursements will have to be approved by a senior POLITICAL appointee (i.e., appointed by Trump).
All arguably illegal/ unconstitutional, though will be held up in courts for… how long?

What I find most startling about this 1-day freeze [until it was unfrozen by DC Circuit Court]: clearly, agencies were given no warning. This is why most govt program operators & non-profits depending on govt funding for day-to-day ops got a red-box warning on their govt websites that funding was on hold “due to presidential EO.” Agencies obviously had nothing to go on other than late-Sun-night warning that funds would not be forthcoming as of 5pm Tuesday. NYT article had examples on the ground, including a govt-funded PreK that told parents not to bring their kids in Wed.
