President Trump’s order to freeze trillions of dollars in federal grants and loans led to confusion, outrage and threats of legal action on Tuesday as it interrupted the Medicaid system that provides health care to millions of low-income Americans and other programs that depend on the flow of federal money.
As the White House moved to rapidly put in place Mr. Trump’s plan to purge the government of what he calls a “woke” ideology, federal health researchers, nonprofits and programs for early childhood education also reported that their usual access to federal funds had gone down, raising alarms about whether the order meant people would lose access to jobs, health care services, reduced-price meals and more.
Trump has said that DEI programs are “immoral and illegal” The Smithsonian Institution closed its diversity office. Any institution that depends on federal funding must immediately halt any outreach to Black, Hispanic, and Asian job candidates, as well as women.

Trump has always hired “the best people” – ie white people – like Matt Gaetz and Peter Hegseth – based entirely on what those who oppose DEI define as “superior merit”.
There are actually anti-DEI folks whose own implicit racism makes them okay with losing a position or a seat to a truly unqualified Trump or Gaetz or Kushner but very, very bothered to lose out to a very qualified Black candidate.

I don’t have the link for a piece I read about issues FELON47 was against and then changed his mind dramatically over after meeting someone or getting a huge profit from his bitcoin scam or lying Truth Social due to a huge block of shares sold at extremely high prices for two ventures that have never turned a profit.
The last I read Truth Social is worth $10 billion. Yet it has never made a profit.
Soon after the bitcoin scam was offered, its value soared to $25 billion. That number was what FELON47’s share in his bitcoin scam was worth. If he sold a billion worth of his $25 billion share, he still made a billion even if it tanked in the market and dropped to penny’s a share.
Other examples I read about: TikTok was one. I recall others but I don’t remember their names.
I think every issue the TRAITOR attacks aggressively means he’s seen an opportunity to profit from it, and he’s created ways for people to pay him off through buying shares for his bit coin scam, or invest in Truth Social, or donate to the Republican party’s campaign fund, that he gained access to, draining millions.
He’s created several legal funnels to bribe him to make issues he attacks go away so they are no longer a problem for those who will lose the most money if they don’t make it go away. If some billionaire might lose a hundred billion and a billion will save them … use your imagination.
He was against bit coin and then he wasn’t
He was against Tik Tok and then he wasn’t.
There were other examples of his flip flops that may have made him money in that revealing piece.
Even wealthy undocumented immigrants that have lots of money have ways to legally “bribe” FELON47, by just buying shares for his Bit Coin scam or Truth Social at prices much higher than they should be, for two ventures that haven’t turned a profit yet.
The Traitor did this with property he owned. Russian mobsters were buying apartments in Trump buildings for prices way beyond what they were worth. The Russian might hold on to the penthouse or sell it at a loss. Either way, Trump’s crime family already cashed out for a price way higher than similar units were going for. I read that in a revealing magazine apiece back in 2016 when I was finding out who Trump was from his long business history.
That also how I learned how the Traitor’s father bailed him out, eventually to the tune of allegedly $400 million without paying any taxes on those cash gifts. His father would send someone to his son’s Atlantic casino who would buy millions of chips to gamble with and then walkout with suitcases full of chips and never gamble.

Trump has no principles other than following the money. Trump was against immigration. Then, Elon and the tech oligarchs wanted their cheaper H1Bs. Tech H1Bs replace American workers with foreigners. In some cases tech companies require Americans to train the foreign workers and then fire the Americans. Firing Americans is not exactly America first. It is actually a billionaires first policy. Trump is a first class hypocrite. In his policy it’s fine to drag fruit pickers out of their trailers and deport them, but hands-off the H1Bs that take good paying jobs that could actually support American families.

My school district’s topic of professional development today was what to do if federal ICE agents try to sneak into your school: know your rights. I sobbed through it.
Before the meeting, I read Anne Frank with my classes for the 22nd and final year. I am finally forced to do online test prep instead of reading literature with my classes. Me. Left Coast Teacher. Defeated. Whipped. Whimpering from the pain inflicted by a school board and administration bullied into submission by banking and tech oligarchs. English instruction over and out. The principal said, “Put down the books and stop reading.”
“In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” And Musk making Heil Hitler salutes. Maybe she was wrong.

I agree that many people are good at heart. Most of them are working class.
Some aren’t. This small faction is mostly rich and in positions of power. A few are good people. Some are horrible. They weren’t born that way. They were taught by their parents or learned from friends and bullies to become monsters like FELON47.
I taught in urban schools with extremely high rates of poverty from 1975 to 2005, so I caught the beginning of the Common Core rank and punish testing. I escaped the worst of it since I retired in August 2005.
Still, we were pressured to teach one way when we thought it was wrong. I resisted and did not teach to the test. That is another story.
My teaching credential was earned in 1975-76, through a full time, yearlong urban residency with a master teacher. The poverty rate in that grade school must have been at least 80% or higher.
I’ve read that about 1% of the total humans in the world are narcissists/sociopaths. Studies have found a gene they think influences that trait.
Still, other studies show that good, loving parents who do not spoil their children can raise a narcist/sociopath to also be a good person.
Just not toxic like the January 6, 2021, traitor, who was raised by a racist father to be a racist. I think his father was also a bully and maybe a sociopath too, where else did he get that gene.
His mentor back in the 1970s was Roy Cohn, who was one of the architects of McCarthy’s red scare, the Communist witch hunts in the 1950s that found communists under every blade of grass and destroyed thousands of lives without evidence, spreading fear far and wide.
Cohn slipped away and survived the fall out that hit Senator McCarthy when his witch hunts were stopped by President Eisenhower, I’ve read.
McCarthy was in the spotlight. Cohn was in the shadows.
I hope to live and see Trump’s fall from on high, if he doesn’t cheat justice by dying first. He’s 78. I’m 79. His father died in his 90s, bedridden with dementia.

The fact that you are writing on this blog is evidence to me that you are not defeated, though it sounds like you certainly have very serious reasons to feel that way.
So many of us are tying to find ways to deal with this “shock and awe” campaign of destruction that’s being waged on the foundations of our government. And, public school teachers have been bombarded for decades now. Thank God I had the people on this blog when I was in my own classroom.
Of course, we’re living in a crazy and very dangerous time in human history. People driven apart, unable to work together while at the same time so-called Artificial Intelligence advances…
I guess showing empathy is a victory in and of itself these days. Likewise being able to retain some semblance of human dignity.
The trump ethos is unable to admit defeat. He apparently despises the meek and hates the weak. Which is insane since we will all eventually vanish forever often after many years of being frail and helpless.
At least you and I are not fooling ourselves along with trying to deceive an entire planet.

As those of us who suffer under Governor DeSantis well know, vague directives are part of the plan. In this case, what is DEI?
Does it include Equal Employment Opportunity offices in the government? Does it include the EEO Commission itself?
Does it include EO (the military equivalent)?
Does it include Women’s History, Black History, Hispanic Heritage celebrations?
Does it include mention of the Tuskegee Airmen? (The Air Force took down a video, then after receiving feedback from Alabama Members of Congress put it back up.) How about the 442 (a highly decorated Japanese-American unit in WWII)?
Apparently, it means we’re back to naming Army bases after men who violated the oath of their commission to uphold the Constitution.
Apparently, it includes contracting and subcontracting goals that give extra points to women-owned, minority-owned businesses. Maybe not small business set-aside, but who knows?
