During an interview on a podcast, Trump let slip that he lost the 2020 election. He claimed he lost the election “by a whisker.” In fact, he lost the popular election by 7 million votes. Perhaps he was thinking of the electoral vote, which he might have won if a few thousand votes in battleground states like Georgia had gone his way.
Nonetheless, he has falsely claimed for almost four years that he won in 2020 but the Democrats stole the election. Logic suggests that the party in power has the means to “rig” an election. He was in power. Republicans controlled Georgia, and Trump lost there.
He lost. He admitted it. Maybe it just slipped out. But he told the truth. For once.

Traitor Trump also lost Arizona, another red state that went blue for the first time in more than 20 years. As I write this, Harris is leading in Georgia again and is almost tied with Traitor Trump in Arizona and North Carolina.
The Traitor is also behind Harris in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

But in almost the same breath, Trump said that the election results were fraudulent; so, his faithful MAGA Minion cult will just shrug and continue that the results were fraudulent and Trump won. As Trump once boasted, he could shoot someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue and his faithful would just chrug and let him get away with it.

This seems similar to Trump sort of saying after many years that Obama was born in Hawaii and not Africa. Did Trump actually admit he was lying for years? Or did he just erase the past and the media let him?
But no doubt this is enough for the so-called liberal media to consider this issue no longer newsworthy. Trump says he lost in 2020, and that’s true, and that’s the only thing voters need to know since mentioning this in any negative way might make voters distrust him.
Trump isn’t flip-flopping like Democrats do. Trump is simply “re-fashioning” himself as a “moderate” about the 2020 election. Trump is “staking out new ground” (the words used in the NYT’s characterization of Trump’s new “moderate” abortion stance) about the 2020 election. And look how brave Trump is being! He is standing up to all the people who believe he won the election! The NYT will speculate that the far right voters could be “displeased” that Trump is now showing his true moderate feelings, to assure readers that the far right neo fascists now know Trump is not their friend.

And apparently nothing at all can ever be done to make these more infrequent, like in European cities or Canada.
I have no idea what the answer is, but I do know that the Republican view that it is impossible to do anything is simply their disingenuous claim to excuse them from even trying.
When Reagan was shot, there was bi-partisan agreement to work on gun control. They got it done.
Now, school shootings are normalized, although apparently a president being shot at means an investigation into the other party secretly helping that person!
When Reagan was shot, it wasn’t about blaming the Democrats. It was about prevention. Although I don’t know how you prevent a person who local police were told had a gun, but who did not immediately notify the Secret Service (he was white and may have just been there cheering on Trump with his beloved gun) until they checked out to make sure that people didn’t jump to conclusions just because a guy possessed an assault weapon. Police use admirable restraint when it is a white guy with an assault weapon, never wanting to jump to conclusions (or notify the Secret Service) until they are certain he is a danger.

Today 9/4 a school shooting at Apalachee High in Winders Ga killed 4 and hospitalized 9. Shots & Screams exploded throughout the building. Kids were eventually evacuated to the football field for transport home. Here is what DJT says about mass shootings. “Democrats in Washington continue to hold commonsense school safety measures hostage to their RADICAL gun control agenda. In virtually all cases it would do nothing to prevent attacks by demented and disturbed individuals.”

Part of the cycle of bulls**t. Trump’s admission is tantamount to saying he misspoke when he said (about Russian election interference) “I don’t see any reason why it WOULD be…”.
His constant footsie with the truth is designed to confuse and mollify. Don’t buy it. Tomorrow he might go back to saying he won and “by a lot”.
