I enjoyed reading this story about the frantic efforts to find four young children who survived a plane crash in the Amazon. The adults on the small plane were killed, including their mother. They were found after 40 days of wandering. How they were found and how they survived makes a good story.

Further proof, as if needed, that LORD OF THE FLIES reflects on the author and his culture, not the reality of children left on their own.

Wow, a very compelling and inspiring story of survival by young kids in a very hostile environment. There were 2 miracles, surviving the crash and then surviving all the dangers in the rain forest.
So sad that the kids had to also go through a brutal custody battle after all they went through from the crash in the jungle.

Don’t ever underestimate the resourcefulness of those who may not be well educated by our standards. Even those we may consider lacking in a formal education may have better survival skills than lots of us educated folks. The big sister in this tale of survival demonstrated a very mature level of responsibility and sound judgment. She had the right training from her mother to protect her siblings and herself.
