It occasionally happens that I forget to add a link. I forgot to add the link for this great segment by Chris Hayes. I was embroiled in a computer glitch all day (my computer and printer are not communicating). Please watch the segment to learn what horrors Trump has in store for us.
Chris Hayes has a regular evening news program on MSNBC.
In this short video, he explains Project 2025, which spells out plans for major changes in the government and in our freedoms.
It’s a short video. Please watch.

is there a link to the video?

Whatever length he goes to deny knowing anything about Project 2025 is directly proportional to the actual level of complicity he has with it. When he said he hoped SCOTUS had the “courage” to create a monarchy it’s pretty clear he already knew what their decision was going to be. Putin plays the long game, nothing is unplanned and he has boiled the frog so effectively that unfiltered Kremlin propaganda now flows from Russia Republicans in our Congress as if their abberancy is normal. It will be no simple feat excising this form of cancer from the body politic.

a bit of reading will take you to the Heritage thought process. It is nothing less than the dismissal of thousands of public servants who have dedicated their lives to making a better America, many across several administrations. People like a guy I know who worked on the last census in order for it to conform to constitutional requirements. There is no telling how much money he saved the country by avoiding lawsuits brought against incompetent administrators.
This points out that win or lose, this plan will be a debacle. It will completely erode the functionality of the federal government in a way akin to a revolutionary takeover. Either it will fail and be called to account in the next election, or it will be installed by a dictatorship that will end democratic involvement for the foreseeable future and assure the development of an organized and violent opposition.

Project 2025 would overhaul our country’s institutions and turn our nation into an authoritarian dictatorship with democratic window dressing. It would expand power for corporations and restrict rights for individuals. The Supreme Court has made it clear it will defend the loss of rights outlined in this document.

Can we imagine calling the police, fire, ambulances, or whatever, and being served — only if you support Trump and the 2024 evangelist machine?
The so called conservatives have taken to thinking that speaking and teaching the truth is teaching propaganda, so its THEIR propaganda against democratic ideals understood by them as the LEFT’s propaganda.
The same with ideals of justice. What a mental sinkhole to be in. CBK

If the Heritage Foundation gets its way, you will call them and they will come to your home IF you are a paid subscriber to the privatized service. If you a poor person (for the middle class will not longer exist), you will be screwed.

This is a very explicit explanation of many of the evil intentions included in Project 2025. The main goal is to enable the installation of elite leadership while subjugating all the little folks through restriction and regressive policies. It is a document that enables the collusion of the executive branch with expanded power enabled by the courts. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/7/8/2252307/-Donald-Trump-is-Lying-About-Project-2025?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=latest_community&pm_medium=web

Jon Stewart made an argument on the Daily Show a few weeks ago with which I heartily agreed. He said the media should be engaged in forensic investigation of the past instead of speculative attempting to predict the future. I don’t know what Trump or Republicans will do, even when they tell me what they have planned. I don’t know how much of Project 2025 will be essayed. They are politicking.
I do know, however, what they have done in the past, and their past actions are revealing. Donald Trump, when he was president, did not listen to other Republicans or, in many cases, even know what they were saying. It’s what successfully made him appear independent of the Bush-Clinton era, something voters desperately wanted. When he took office, he was unprepared to do the work. He was used to a lifestyle of leisure, so he played golf and partied. He let Mitch McConnell do the governing for him. That is what a President Trump did, he let others make his manifesto for him. He’s rich. Modus operandi.

leftcoastteacher4824So he “did not listen to other Republicans or, in many cases, even know what they were saying” He just sat in the White House eating Big Macs and signed on to the Right Wing agenda that crossed his desk. Pretty much !Of course he did not have to do much because that Right Wing Agenda is to cripple government. So not much was passed.

Exactly! Once he appointed people whose job was to dismantle the agency they headed, Trump could sit back and do nothing.

Meanwhile, Russia just purposefully targeted and bombed another children’s hospital in Ukraine in retaliation for Ukrainian bombing of energy facilities inside Russia.
A children’s hospital. Donald Trump’s handler and pal Putin just bombed another freaking children’s hospital.
This alone should disqualify Trump, who thinks that he has such a good relationship with Vladimir that he, Trump, could end the war in a day. That this scumbag Trump cozies up to child murderers like Putin should be enough for any decent person not to vote for him.
Children. They target children. And Donald Trump thinks that’s just peachy. It’s being “tough.”

In other news, lately I have been receiving on my laptop computer advertisement related TO WHATEVER I HAVE SAID IN CONVERSATION WITH PEOPLE ON THAT OR THE PREVIOUS DAY. So, to give one of MANY examples, I was telling an acquaintance about how I got my golf cart stolen, and THAT AFTERNOON, I started getting ads for golf carts.
This is a whole other level of creepy. Is this happening to anyone else?

I suspect that my phone is listening to my conversations and then, for a fee, reporting this info to ad purveyors.

Bob, I can tell you for a fact that the Internet is collecting your data. If you look up shoes, you will be barraged by ads for shoes.

Bob: My guess is (about your phone/listening) is that it’s an employment of artificial intelligence which easily “listens” to flag word orders and (probably) links with related advertisers. Small comfort but, if so, it’s not a real person and so, in some sense, relatively benign . . . until it’s not.
Just more of the gen/post-modern, or whatever, rocket ship we find ourselves on. Medical services have become (for me) a layered joke. CBK

My provider’s software is listening to me, recording what I talk about, and then selling the data. And you really don’ want to get me onto the topic of medical services. Americans are idiots. They really need to learn some things about how the rest of the world does stuf.

Last summer I was sitting on the beach and admiring a new type of sun shade device. Within a few hours, I was having ads for that device show up on my computer. Now, I never said a single word to the owners of the shade device OR to anyone else about it. I’m starting to think my phone can read my mind!
It was explained to me that all that needed to happen was that my phone needed to be in the same area as the people with the sunshade who purchased that item online. Advertisers collect and sell data through your service provider. It is CREEPY and I really don’t like it!

Bob is wrong as usual. Ukraine bombed the children’s hospital. The shrapnel they found was from Ukraine. Just like Ukraine and Biden hit the Nordstream pipeline.
The dem party is in panic and it’s fun to watch. No leaders. You have Pete BUtthead allowing the DMV to register illegals to register to vote in election to cheat again. People here will be ok with that .

Ms. Right: At first blush, sounds to me like just more from a person on the right (like some members of my own family) where, it also seems to me, so many just don’t like the openness of a conversational/educational model of communicating, which gets messy sometimes as truth and reality are worked out the best way possible by taking into account different and sometimes conflicting ideas and interpretations–until the foundations of open discussion itself are attacked.
Just tell the right what to do and what to think, and they’ll do and think it.
I prefer the conversational model, thank you, which is why I read this blog. CBK

In France, voters put aside their differences and joined together to prevent a dangerous far right government from ruling France.
Can America do that? How sad is it that instead of calling for that, the so-called liberal media is working overtime to divide those who want to prevent a far right government from seizing power.
