Anyone who stands up to Trump puts their life at risk. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has received hundreds of death threats since his prosecution began. Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies because of his rigging the election by paying off porn star Stormy Daniels to keep his sexual encounter with her out of the news before the vote in 2016. While he throws around claims that Democrats “would rig the election” in 2016 and claims that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen,” it was he who rigged the election by paying Daniels for her silence.
Trump claims that his inability to attack the jurors and prosecutors violates his First Amendment rights. He is vile.
The New York Times reported today:
Prosecutors in Manhattan said on Friday that a judge should keep in place major elements of a gag order that was imposed on Donald J. Trump, citing dozens of threats that have been made against officials connected to the case.
The order, issued before Mr. Trump’s Manhattan criminal trial began in mid-April, bars him from attacking witnesses, jurors, court staff and relatives of the judge who presided over the trial, Juan M. Merchan.
Mr. Trump’s lawyers have sought to have the order lifted since Mr. Trump’s conviction in late May. But in a 19-page filing on Friday, prosecutors argued that while Justice Merchan no longer needed to enforce the portion of the gag order relating to trial witnesses, he should keep in place the provisions protecting jurors, prosecutors, court staff and their families.
The New York Police Department has logged 56 “actionable threats” since the beginning of April directed against Alvin L. Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney who brought the case, and against his family and employees, according to an affidavit provided with the filing.
Such threats, evidently made by supporters of Mr. Trump, included a post disclosing the home address of an employee at the district attorney’s office, and bomb threats made on the first day of the trial directed at two people involved in the case.
The 56 threats that were logged, prosecutors said, did not include the hundreds of “threatening emails and phone calls” that were received by Mr. Bragg’s office in recent months, which the police are “not tracking as threat cases.”
Mr. Trump was convicted on May 30 of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payoff made to the porn star Stormy Daniels. The money was meant to cover up a sexual tryst she says she had with Mr. Trump in 2006, a decade before he was elected president. (Mr. Trump, 78, has continued to deny ever having had sex with Ms. Daniels.)
If he didn’t have sex with Daniels, why did he pay her $130,000?

Everything I post goes into moderation now. It’s a total pain.
Bob, are you using an Apple product like an iMac or Apple mobile phone?
If yes, WordPress and Apple are not getting along.
That’s why I sent my long comment from my iMac desktop where I wrote it to my email account so I could open it on my Windows Lenovo and post it on Diane’s blog.
Nope. I used them in my publishing business years ago when their graphics were so much superior to Windows, but when Windows machines caught up graphically, I switched over because the Windows machines are so much cheaper.
I use an Apple iPhone and it communicates well with WordPress.
Did Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Rape A 13 Year Old Girl? | National Review
What a person does in their life and the people they hang out with, not what they say, reveals who they really are.
So, who is the real Traitor Trump?
In 1973, Traitor Trump and his father settled a discrimination charge out of court with the US Justice Department for $2 million and promised to rent apartments to African Americans. They sued the Justice Department for $200 million, but the charges were dismissed.

Has anyone noticed that I haven’t reached the Traitor’s presidency yet?
Well, I’m skipping his presidency, the 60+ lost court cases that failed to prove the election was rigged against the Traitor, and his failed, violent coup on January 6, 2021, since he’s already ranked by more than a hundred reputable historians as the worst president in US history.

Fast forward to June 20, 2024, and John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight focusing on Traitor Trump’s Second Term from the Traitor’s own plans listing what the Traitor says he going to do if re-elected, that may still be on the Traitor’s website for everyone to read. This isn’t a secret. The Traitor has made his dangerous and frightening deplorable plans public.
Conclusion: Since Traitor Trump has already been found guilty of rape and fraud in three different trials, two by juries, are all of his supporters’ criminals too?
“Helping a criminal can be a crime. This is called aiding and abetting, or serving as an accessory after the fact, and is a criminal charge that can result in serious consequences. The severity of the charge depends on the seriousness of the crime. For example, aiding and abetting in the commission of a misdemeanor (or felony) will have the same punishment as the misdemeanor (or felony).”

“NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump became the first former American president to be convicted of felony crimes Thursday as a New York jury found him guilty of all 34 charges in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through a hush money payment to a porn actor who said the two had sex.”
I wonder what other public figures regularly receive threats from the mentally fragile MAGA supporters of trump. Come to think of it, normal leadership attracts enough attention to get threats and accusations. Stirring up the public the way trump does should create a barrage of hate mail and unfounded accusations.
“If he didn’t have sex with Daniels, why did he pay her $130,000?”
Even more curious is why would tRump, long known as a notorious miser when it comes to paying debts, fork over to Michael Cohen a whopping $420,000 in 2017 for his involvement in the cover up if tRump didn’t really have sex with Daniels???
For the details that came out in court on this matter, see: https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/made-a-boo-boo-former-trump-organization-accounting-head-details-how-the-company-reimbursed-michael-cohen-during-hush-money-trial-testimony/
Normal people are deeply concerned about our country’s future should Trump win the presidency. I’ve been trying to reason my way through.
Trump lost in 2020 by more than 7 million votes in the popular count. What has Trump done to get that number or greater to vote for him this time? The number of people who’ll vote for him because he’s been convicted is certainly finite. Perhaps some small number will migrate to Trump from Biden, but not 7 million. Maybe it’s my years at middle school – kids like to see the bad boy act up. It’s an exciting performance in a boring world.
Of course, it’s the electoral count that is concerning. There’s the expected GOP effort to suppress voting. Or perhaps a lot of voters will stay home; the election of 2020 was the highest number of voters historically. Let’s put the annoying horse race polling aside. Trump can bruit and bray all he is wont to; I just don’t see 7 million voters flipping to Trump’s column, especially not after the debate.
One of my sons works in a blue-collar job in Southern Florida. He’s an auto mechanic. The young men that he works with–and they are almost all young men–are mostly Latino, like my son, but all but a couple are emphatically pro Trump. When you ask them about ANYTHING having to do with Biden’s or Trump’s actual policies or histories, they are utterly unfamiliar with them. They literally don’t know ANYTHING about what either man has done or promises to do. They cannot name anyone on the Supreme Court. They cannot name anyone who serves in either administration. They don’t know anything about current events unrelated to their personal interests–guns, cars, motorcycles, racing, and video games. Like Trump, they wouldn’t know Karl Marx from Groucho Marx, but they know, they think, that Democrats are Marxists. And somehow they know that Biden bad, Trump good. They will tell you, emphatically, that Biden is the worst president ever, but they cannot tell you anything specific that he has done that they don’t like. And they will tell you that it’s important to get out and vote Biden out of office “before it’s too late.” They will also tell you that Disney sucks because it has gone “woke.”
But did they vote for Biden last time?
My hypothesis is Trump isn’t going to take away many votes from Biden. I do think some Republicans will quietly go to Biden. A swing of 7 million plus? Unlikely.
The tRump is hurting out here in flyover land. In my comings and goings through rural Missouri and in speaking with others who travel about the rural areas for work, we’ve seen almost no MAGA/tRump/etc. . . signs/posters. In the prior two election cycles the countryside was littered with tRump signs-couldn’t go a half a mile without seeing a couple.Yes, even those whom Bob so derogatorily demeans, those whom he thinks have no intelligence or morals actually do have those things and appear to be deciding that the tRump is not their candidate as shown by them not putting out campaign signs/posters this time around.I believe that many of those voters will go to RFK JR. or they will not show up to vote at all. He’ll drain away more votes from the tRump than he will from Biden supporters.I hope I’m correct on this observation, but my past presidential election prognostications have been wrong many times (mainly regarding Saint Unca Ronnie and Georgie the Least.)
I said of Ronald Reagan, this guy has claimed that Social Security is a Communist plot. No way he could become president.
I said of George Bush, Jr., this guy has driven several businesses into bankruptcy and went AWOL from even the limited service his Daddy arranged for him and has had a long-term alcohol and cocaine problem. No way he could become president.
I said of Donald Trump, this guy is a career gifter and conman who stiffs his contractors and has no charm or intelligence or knowledge of how things work. No way he could become president.
In other words, I have a long history of overestimating Americans. Especially ones in Podunk.
Diane, you write: “While he throws around claims that Democrats “would rig the election” in 2016 and claims that the 2020 election was ‘rigged’ and ‘stolen,’ it was he who rigged the election by paying Daniels for her silence.”
The narrative goes forward anyway about the porn star stuff, and “hush money,” and nothing about Trump claiming the election was rigged against him while, all along, HE was trying to rig the election FOR himself. (Everything for Trump is projection.)
Trump was convicted of trying to rig the election for himself, regardless of (1) whether or not he actually had sex with Stormy, and regardless of
(2) whether or not it worked.
The narrative that went forward, however, really muddied the waters as far as communicating with the MAGA crowd was concerned. CBK
Trump always accuses his opponent of whatever he is doing. So, for example, he accused Biden of being “jacked up” on cocaine during the 2020 election debates.
Bob: Nothing surprises about Trump anymore. CBK
