Haaretz, a prominent daily in Israel, has been very critical of Prime Minister Netanyahu and of his failure to make a deal for peace. More than once, the journal’s writers have suggested that Netanyahu hopes to continue the war until after the U.S. presidential election, hoping that Trump wins.
In 2016, Trump’s biggest donor was Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino owner. He and his wife Miriam gave $90 million to Trump. There was a deal. In return for the first $20 million, Trump promised to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. When Trump won, he did just that.
Adelson died in 2021. His widow has an even bigger ask: she wants Trump to let Israel annex the West Bank. The West Bank is supposed to be the heart of a new Palestinian state. If Israel annexes it, there will never be a Palestinian state. She has let it be known that she will give more money to Trump’s campaign than she and her husband gave last time.
If Trump is elected, it will be a tragedy for Israel, for the Palestinians, and for peace in the Middle East.

I believe there was a really good (evil) reason that the Saudis gave Slim Man (Jared Kushner) billions of dollars for his investment firm. I can envision a “Monaco” type establishment being erected from the rubble in Gaza. A new playground for the rich and famous complete with “Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams”. Connect the dots.

Good point. The fact that Gaza is sitting on prime Gulf front property would not be lost on a shark family of real estate developers.

Let’s delve into Jared Kushner’s recent comments about Gaza.
Jared Kushner, who served as a senior foreign policy adviser during Donald Trump’s presidency and is also his son-in-law (no nepotism there), made some rather interesting remarks during an interview at Harvard University.
In February, Kushner praised the “very valuable” potential of Gaza’s waterfront property. Yes, you read that correctly—Gaza, which has been practically leveled in the recent attacks, apparently has some prime real estate potential according to Kushner.
His suggestion? Well, he proposed that Israel should remove civilians from Gaza while it “cleans up” the area. So, great real-estate developments start with “evict the current residents” in their business plans?
It’s like he looked at the ongoing humanitarian crisis at the scene of war crimes and crimes against humanity and thought, “You know what this place needs? A nice beachfront resort!”
Now, let’s be clear: Gaza is not just a piece of land; it’s home to real people with real lives, hopes, and dreams. And suggesting that they be moved out so that the area can be “cleaned up” is, well, I shall leave you to come up with some appropriate adjectives.

And let us not forget that the Saudis have had no love for Palestinians…..not many other Arab countries do either. Slim Man has no soul and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he knew what was going to occur Oct 7th and sat quiet while his own people suffered that tragic event. Jared is up to his neck in this and every Jew should be looking to exact “Jewish Law” against him. He is a vulture!

I would not go that far.
However, Kushner is said to have advised Don the Con to play down Covid because Trump was running for president on “his” booming economy, and coming out and saying that there was a crisis might depress economic activity. So, lots and lots and lots of blood on his hands if this is true. The DOJ should investigate this and, if it is true, bring charges against him. It’s obscene. We know, ofc, that that’s what Don the Con DID. Lots and lots of blood on Donnie’s tiny hands. All the perfumes of Arabia, . . .

Also, let’s not forget what Jared’s father did to his own family! Apples don’t fall far from trees and Slim Man learned the family trade. Oh, the webs people will weave to make money in this world….it never amazes me anymore.

It’s The Shock Doctrine, disaster capitalism. Iraq, New Orleans, etc, we’ve seen it before, again and again. I would be surprised if the leisure class were not chomping at the bit right now to open charter schools in Gaza. Come to think of it, that could be one way to end the war: convince the Western charter sector that Netanyahu stands in the way of school choice in Israel, and they’ll spend whatever it takes to elect someone from Teach for America instead.

The Gaza Strip sits on the Mediterranean Sea, not the Gulf.

Israel will not annex Judea and Samaria. In the original partition plan it was supposed to be part of the Jewish state. It was claimed by Jordan during the war of 1948. It was then occupied by Jordan which made its Arab inhabitants Jordanian citizens.
The area became Israel in the 1967 war. The Arabs living there lost their Jordanian citizenship after Jordan revoked it.
The people living there consider themselves Palestinians and eighty percent support Hamas and its pogrom of Oct 7.
Israel needs to reestablish military occupation in the “ West Bank “ and Gaza.
There is no possibility of peace or a two state solution now or ever.

Irrespective of whatever Israel chooses to do in the Gaza or the West Bank, it seems insulting to me that anyone would suggest that Trump, or any other President of any country, can dictate to Israel what it should or will do with its borders. Second, and more important, Netanyahu will not be PM nor will his party govern Israel much longer. The majority of Israelis do not want to occupy Gaza or the West Bank. Why do Americans think that their will is the only one that counts. Israel is a sovereign nation, and it will determine, with much debate, protest, action and reaction how it will defend itself and what it will do as a nation under fire and in war. The arrogance to suggest that becuase Trump moved the AMERICAN EMBASSY to Jerusalem means that his election will directly cause the annexation of the WB is just ludicrous. This type of hyperbole is why the US is so out of balance. To be clear, I am not a Trump supporter, and I was happy he was convicted of crimes he has committed (some anyway), but this conflict is not about him or Biden or America. The sooner we understand that, the better.

Yes, it is about America and it’s policies with Israel as the amount of military aide and weapons that we supply to Israel is a huge part of the problem. Without that weaponry and American military support the Zionists in Israel could not commit the war crimes and massacres that they are now doing on a daily basis.

It would be interesting to know why Trump keeps some compaign promises and doesn’t keep others.
I think when he makes promises to get votes, he doesn’t’ keep those, but when he gets money, lots of it, he does, because then he might get more.
During the traitor’s four years living in the White House wanting to be a dictator, he broke 55 campaign promises and kept 24. Many of the campaign promises he kept were reversing Obama era policies.

Lloyd,
I agree. Trump makes many promises, some contradictory. The ones he keeps are to big donors.

I am not fond of dichotomy, but it seems to me that peace in the Middle East depends on one of two choices: the two state solution or genocide. If two bitter enemies decide to live together in peace, a Palestinian state would seem to be the only way. After Oct 7, I hardly see Hamas as s part of any such arrangement. Nor does it seem Netanyahu has any goal except hegemony, and he will have to commit genocide to attain that goal.
Any two state solution will obviously be without Netanyahu and without Hamas. Will either give up their goal of genocide?

Roy,
I agree completely! There will never be peace without two states. The death cycle must stop.
