Donald Trump continued his March to the Republican Presidential nomination and found time to attend “SneakerCON” in Philadelphia. There he hawked his new line of sneakers, proudly showing off the top of the line: Golden Trump sneakers priced at $399. The 1,000 pairs on hand quickly sold out. A business triumph for Trump, who is in hock for nearly half a billion $$$ in New York.

And at last, Trump mentioned Navalny’s death, but he didn’t mention Putin. Instead, he compared himself to Navalny. Chutzpah!
He wrote on his Truth Social site:
“The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our Country,” Trump posted to Truth Social on Monday. “It is a slow, steady progression, with CROOKED, Radical Left Politicians, Prosecutors, and Judges leading us down a path to destruction. Open Borders, Rigged Elections, and Grossly Unfair Courtroom Decisions are DESTROYING AMERICA. WE ARE A NATION IN DECLINE, A FAILING NATION! MAGA2024.”
Words fail me when I read that Trump can’t bring himself to condemn Putin, and even more astonishing that he sees himself as analogous to Navalny.

George Conway said on Twitter that if Trump sold 1.25 million gold sneakers at $399 a pair, he could pay his legal fines in New York.

No, Trump won’t criticize Putin and has flattered him many times, but I believe Putin when he says that he prefers a Biden presidency because Biden is a predictable member of the old guard. Who could have predicted that president Trump would be more hostile to Russia than Obama was after all of Trump’s praise of Putin? His admin imposed several sets of sanctions, sold arms to Ukraine, ejected 60 Russian diplomats when a former Russian spy was poisoned, and launched cruise missiles at Syria. I could easily see the Russians scratching their heads or laughing at this statement regarding Navalny because it makes no sense whatsoever. Unpredictable is a nice way of saying crazy.

Putin is lying when he says he prefers Biden. Putin always lies. It’s his way of expressing himself. He arrests people who question his lies. There is no “war” in Ukraine. If you disagree, you may be jailed.

@diane- that would be a big last thing I would do. I would rather donate money to my local food pantry (which I do). I was speaking like some of the MAGA crowd I saw interviewed at rallies. Sorry for the confusion. And I have to watch every dime as I do not have a ton of money for frivolous items.

@Diane — Not at all. the “creative guy” in me talks like I am the “other person.” I am my own “one man show.” My point was so many say “I can’t afford groceries” but buy junk like this (at least from what I have seen). What? Did he watch “Air” about Michael Jordan sneakers and now will get the NBA to mandate all wear the golden sneakers. I just don’t know much anymore.
