If you believe that required testing of children in pre-kindergarten through grade two (other than testing for diagnostic purposes) is not needed for students in today’s schools, please sign in as a PROPONENT to support this bill!
Senate Bill 3986—Pacione Zayas.

Also, call your State Sen. & Rep. & urge them to support SB 3986 AND forward this post to all your friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbors & organizations in IL!!!
rbmtk,
Any idea how the committee hearing went?
Thus far (today), Chair of Education Committee became Chief Co-sponsor & another member of Education Committee signed on as a Sponsor.
I have to ask someone more knowledgeable than I as to the next step, but these were good signs & it wasn’t killed in Committee.
Thanks!
This is great. Now, and after this, let’s end the federal standardized testing mandate for all students in all grades.
“Now, and. . . in all grades.”
Bingo, bango, boingle. We have another winner this afternoon. Give that young man a Kewpie Doll.
And end all state standards and testing malpractice mandates. . . .
And all district standards and testing malpractice mandates. . . .
And all local school standards and testing malpractice mandates. . . .
And, no, I am not against teacher made classroom assessments.
Well, we have been saying this for YEARS & YEARS. I’m going to see if I can send a link to a really great Assessments Hearing that a great State Rep. (previously, a 34-year teacher) held.
I long to see Truth and Reconciliation Committee Hearings at the federal level into the scam that is this mandated standardized testing, one intended to prosecute the perpetrators and recover the billions lost in the names of the children who had a decent, humane education stolen from them by these con artists.
Does IL currently administer non-diagnostic standardized tests to PK-2 students?
