The crowd began to boo Trump after he said he had gotten his booster shot, though the former president discouraged the jeers.
When the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman asked a Trump spokesperson why he changed his message on the vaccine and boosters, she received a handwritten note, signed “Donald.“ The first four words were underlined, according to the photo Haberman posted on Twitter.
“Must tell the truth — and very proud to have produced the 3 vaccines so quickly — million of lives saved worldwide — Best wishes Donald,” the note said.
While there has been opposition to vaccinations among some conservatives — just 60 percent of Republicans are vaccinated, compared to 91 percent of Democrats, according to The New York Times — Trump has touted his administration’s role in developing the vaccine…
While Trump reiterated his opposition to vaccine mandates, he said to his supporters that when they doubt the vaccine’s efficacy and safety, “you’re playing right into their hands.”

Nonetheless, Trump’s admission that he has received three shots might persuade some of his followers to take the shots, and that’s good for everyone. Maybe he realized that a disproportionate number of Trumpers were refusing the vaccine and putting their lives at risk. The more people refuse the shots, the longer the pandemic will go on and on.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans died because of his toddlerlike refusal to face reality (“NO! MY COOKIE!”).
And then, as if this malfeasance were not bad enough–his being personally responsible for the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans, he refused to accept the reality of his election defeat and tried to overturn an election by interfering with the election process.
And despite all this, this murderous, traitorous predator is still slithering about, unaccountable, the Teflon Don 2.0. The Con Man who continues to get away with it, The criminal Don, Cheeto “Littlefingers” Trumpbalone. Accountability, in the United States, is for little people., for the guy illegally selling “Loosies” (individual cigarettes) on a streetcorner who deserves to be beaten to death by police for this. Frankly, I have gotten to the point that I do not give a flip about Donald Trump. He is a waste of human flesh and will never ever be missed when he leaves this planet. And, I have gotten to the point that I do not give a flip about the people who are dumb enough to follow this equivalent to cult leader Jim Jones. Trump’s followers have swallowed his cool aide and now the rest of this country and the world are paying a heavy negative price.
I am more concerned about how we as a nation can turn this mess around that Trump and his weak minded followers have created. It is time to care about people who want to be civil productive citizens and not people like Trump, his family, White Supremest, the gangs of militia (wannabe soldiers), KKK, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz, Fox News, etc.

Also, every Trumpist that dies is another vote lost for the traitor if or when he runs in 2024. Trump doesn’t want them to get vaccinated to save their lives. He wants them alive to vote in 2024.
That’s why Trump loyalists should hold the line against being vaccinated. Although I have had all three jabs, too, I support Trump’s loyalties to not get vaccinated, gather in large crowds of like-minded people, and never wear masks.
The rest of us have the freedom to avoid them while they are running around in public being stupid.

In fact the Pfizer vaccine was formulated within 48 hours of the Chinese releasing the genetic sequence on Jan 10, 2020. , Pfizer had applied for Human Trials in the EU and US one and a half months before Warp speed was announced. And two months before Warp speed details were released. Moderna a long time partnership with the NIH who shares patents on MRNA technology with that Public agency was on a similar time line ..

The notion that we will stop the virus by Vaccinating all Americans (or wealthy nations) is false. To achieve that we have to vaccinate the world. Something as Dean Baker has said should have pushed us to eliminate patents on these vaccines that were developed by NIH funding for the better part of 2 decades. Doing so would enable Manufacturers in places from South Africa – Indonesia … to produce the billions of doses needed rapidly.
We can handsomely reward the drug manufactures and scientists for there efforts . We dont have to reward Wall Street.
The current flavor of the month is Omicron, far more transmissible but possibly(?) less deadly. It is not in a viruses interest to kill the host so there is no guarantee that the next variant be more deadly . Then again the virus dose not know that and it could be.
As for the Trumpanzees mandate the Vaccine or cut off payments from ACA to Medicare and Medicaid services to any state that does not. Allow insurance companies from Medicare /Medicaid to private insurers to refuse to pay for services. Allow hospitals to turn away unvaccinated covid patients.
An unvaccinated American who has no regard for his fellow citizens, those who may have compromised immune systems certainly should not be treated better than a young woman seeking an abortion in many of our states.

Wikipedia has an entry, “Covid 19 Misinformation.” I wanted to find the derivation of the false claim that doctors at hospitals were told “to stand down.” Unfortunately, that conspiracy topic wasn’t covered.

It would be great if doctors were doing the bare minimum – like telling folks not to OD on Tylenol.
Based on this woman’s account, there’s no evidence her doctor provided any advice for her breakthrough case.

OK, broke my rule about reading posted posts on this one because I like reading The Atlantic. Read it twice. It basically has the same conclusion that I have had since the beginning of the pandemic: the only thing certain about Covid is uncertainty. Read the paragraph that cited Tylenol three times. I don’t understand the OD comment at all, it certainly has nothing to do with the story. Nor does the second comment. What is your point? Not that I expect to get a coherent answer.
