Steve Ruis writes in his blog that “class warfare” is over, finished, kaput. The top .001% won. They made out like bandits during the pandemic while most people struggled to pay the mortgage or the rent. No wonder they prefer to claim that charter schools and vouchers will raise up the poor. Of course, they won’t.
He writes:
From an article in The Guardian on Forbes magazine’s latest list of billionaires:
“Forbes annual billionaire poll includes a record-breaking 2,755 billionaires, with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos once again topping the list. Elon Musk, zoomed into second place with a $151bn fortune, up $126.4bn from a year ago, when he ranked No 31 and was worth “just” $24.6bn.”
“Elon Musk, zoomed into second place with a $151bn fortune, up $126.4bn from a year ago.”
“Together the plutocrats added $5tn to their wealth for a combined fortune of $13.1tn, up from $8tn on the 2020 list. A record 493 people joined the list this year – one new billionaire every 17 hours. The majority, 205, were in China. But the gains were widespread with gains across the world.”
“But it was the incredibly wealthy who made the biggest gains. The 0.001% did even better than their lesser peers. The top 10 richest people on the list are worth $1.15tn, up from $686bn last year.”
“For Elon Musk to spend off half of his gain from the past year, he would have to spend $33,000,000 every working hour of every working day of a year.”
Also from Ruis’s blog. I wonder what he pays in taxes.
You and the weirdo in the video spout the usual far left, traitorous, socialistical agenda for tearing down America: Find great and godly patriots who are creating exciting new industries that will further raise our standard of living while giving meaningful and creative jobs to millions. Accuse them of exploitation because they actually expect their workers to WORK for their pay; accuse them of building their factories on the graves of some unknown group that lived a long time ago; accuse them of polluting the air and water even though any idiot can see that chemicals disperse and disappear as soon as the wind blows and the water flows; and lastly, steal all their money via fines and taxes, and give it away to losers, addicts, illegals and communists.

Whoa! Turn off the OAN TV! Please find another site to troll.
It is so good to see this post. This evening.
Harms .02% of the population so /= pandemic. Covid is only deadly to people with an mutated infected cell marker gene. Probably the same gene for people at risk for lung cancer. Have you ever considered to stop being an ad populum asswipe? You’re everyone charging the cliff edge, how do you think it will turn out? Heroin related deaths are being covered up by reclassing as covid deaths. Just look at george floyd. They’re so hungry for covid statistics they’ll even try to dope related suicides.
Go troll elsewhere!
We need a bouncer, these nasty trolls multiply and are only looking to disrupt and spew lies and insults.
Diane is the bouncer, but she’s a little under the weather right now. I guess we’ll just have to call them out as a “troll” and not feed them. They have some kind of derangement syndrome with a bad case of diarrhea of the mouth.
This particular one is dumber than a dumbbell and appears to be incapable of writing a coherent sentence.
Makes me wonder whether he ever graduated from middle school.
Or maybe he is still IN middle school.
SomeDAM…it just goes to show that Common Core really did/does dumb down the masses.
The tax cut for the wealthiest served to “juice” the stock market. While so many people could barely feed their families during the pandemic, the stock market was soaring. This helped to build more wealth for the richest people.
The top marginal tax rate should be restored to what it was during Ike’s administration, 91%. That would be a good start plus the restoration of strong unionism as was the case in the 1950s: about a 33% unionization rate in the 1950s to what we have now, about a 10% unionization rate overall.
Actually apples to apples the Unionization rate was far higher in the 1950s . The 33% was almost entirely Private sector workers as that many Public sector workers were not even granted bargaining rights yet by the states in the 1950s . If you had maintained Private sector Union density and added Public sector unions to that number the rate would be at least several points higher.
Big if.
If it ain’t broke for me, don’t dare let anyone else try to fix the inequities that make it work for me.
I like Zinn better . “The American system is the most ingenious system of control in world history. With a country so rich in natural resources, talent, and labor power the system can afford to distribute just enough wealth to just enough people to limit discontent to a troublesome minority.”
It is a constant pattern that I see with working class Americans who are content as long as someone has less then they do . And of course it helps if that someone is a different color . So White working class voters in the South reject Unions because heaven for bid only Black people need them . And White Union workers in the North vote for anti union politicians who would decimate their unions because they also attack those who have less .
Do we blame the 0.01 % for this .
“It would be a rare farmer in the 1890s or worker on a soup line in the 1930s who did not know who was trying to screw them”
