As the pandemic was surging in mid-April, CNN reports that Jared Kushner told Bob Woodward that Trump had “cut out” the doctors and scientists and taken control; the pandemic would soon end, and Trump would reopen the country.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner boasted in mid-April about how the President had cut out the doctors and scientists advising him on the unfolding coronavirus pandemic, comments that came as more than 40,000 Americans already had died from the virus, which was ravaging New York City.
In a taped interview on April 18, Kushner told legendary journalist Bob Woodward that Trump was “getting the country back from the doctors” in what he called a “negotiated settlement.”
Kushner also proclaimed that the US was moving swiftly through the “panic phase” and “pain phase” of the pandemic and that the country was at the “beginning of the comeback phase.” “That doesn’t mean there’s not still a lot of pain and there won’t be pain for a while, but that basically was, we’ve now put out rules to get back to work,” Kushner said. “Trump’s now back in charge. It’s not the doctors.”
Trump would reopen the country, he said in tapes interviews.
The statement reflected a political strategy. Instead of following the health experts’ advice, Trump and Kushner were focused on what would help the President on Election Day. By their calculations, Trump would be the “open-up president.”
Kushner describes Trump’s victory over the Republican Party as a “hostile takeover.”

Nice.
Ooohh–I LIKE this VERY much!!!
LOL. Is this the first time that trayf has been used in a rhyme in all of English poetry?
I checked in the OY-D (Oxford Yiddish Dictionary). Don’t have a definitive answer, but their bearded lexicographers said Shakespeare never used “trayf” in his plays or sonnets. Not even in the Merchant of Venice. Nor is there any appearance of this word in Churchill’s his great speeches. Probably Woody Allen used “trayf” in a throwaway.
I just can’t understand why anyone would re elect Trump for another term.
“We the sheeple of trump”….
If Ugh! knew more than doctors, he wouldn’t be sick in so many ways or he would have cured himself by now.
🤕😷🤧🤒
Kushner reminds me of the “walking dead.”
Kushner is the “walking dead”. He comes out of the swamp that Trump promised to drain. If Trump had kept we would not be having discussions about Kushner and the rest of Trump’s family
What a maroon! Listened to part of Woodward’s tape. The Idiot in law says we have a “federalist” system.
Nicely Freudian–he’s a moron who should be marooned!!
Cast him away!
A maroonoron
Aka, a catastaway
Trump has made it clear repeatedly that he is the smartest man in the world, that he knows everything, more than anyone
If Ugh! was the smartest man in the world, we’d already know it without him telling us. 😐
Ugh! isn’t Ken Jennings of Jeopardy. 😐
A great collage of Trump’s claims, none of them true. That is another reason he is so dangerous.
“Nobody knows the cyber like Donald Trump.” –Donald Trump
The dump is DELUSIONAL.
Man, what he on?
Reblogged this on David R. Taylor-Thoughts on Education.
Dr. Donald
Dr. Donald, I presume
Smartest man in planet room
Knows diseases, front and back
Really has the doctor knack
Knows that masks are useless tripe
Knows that Fauci’s full of hype
Knows that bleach can cure what ails
“Drink it straight from cleaning pails”
Knows that chloroquine is great
“Skeptics are just full of hate”
Knows that doctors hype and spin
Just so Donald doesn’t win
Knows we’ve got the virus beat
“Spiky graphs are really neat”
Knows that end is round the corner
“Pay no mind to grouchy coroner”
LMAO!
Trump negotiated with doctors over how to deal with Covid. Trump may be able to push medical experts around as they are not accustomed to dealing with the caveman tactics of business. Covid is a terrorist virus, and it does not respond to negotiations. Covid has the last word, not Trump, and it is winning the battle simply because the idiots in the White House equate masking wearing with freedom, have no plan and did not produce enough PPE.
The Art of the Virus Deal
The deal he made with virus
Is something to inspire us
He said “we will pay”
“If you go away”
And virus asked “you fire us?”

I’ll take for granted that most people in this forum are aware of the Dunning-Kruger effect. For those who aren’t, it is a term of art in psychology that describes the problem of people who, as the Wikipedia page for the term describes it, possess “the cognitive bias of illusory superiority…and … the inability of people to recognize their lack of ability.” Put a bit less politely, it describes people who are too ignorant to understand the depth of their own ignorance, too stupid to know how stupid they are. One of the late-night hosts, and I think it may have been John Oliver, put Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump forward as perfect personifications of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
This blog post, as far as evidence to support that claim, works well for me.
I was thinking the same thing (although I didn’t know there was a term to describe it). They feel so sure of themselves that it never occurs to them that what they say and do is idiotic. It would be blissful ignorance if their policies didn’t negatively impact so many of us. Ultimately, they are smug murderers through their blindness to reality.
Absolutely. A couple of dangerous morons.
A revision, ofc:
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing:
drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring.
–Alexander Pope
But here’s the thing that truly appalls–
the monster that stalks the Whiter House halls:
having no knowledge, none at all.
–Bob Shepherd

Nepotism to the Rescue!
Don’t be swamped by worry and strife.
for Donald possesses a Swiss Army Knife,
a multi-purpose know-it-all,
in Jared Kushner, his son-in-law.
For certain, you can trust with your life
with Jared Kushner and his wife,
whom Trump would be dating, in reality,
but for a little technicality.
Whoa! Perfect diction, Bob–and nice meter as well!

“Dad was German,” Trump said; we’re cursed.
He’s putrid and rancid, unspeakable, wurst.
Doesn’t have a working noodle.
His brains are what we know as shtrudel.
LMAO!!! Wonderful, Fred!
You’ve witnessed it here, folks: the Trump-Reaction Renaissance of Poetry (ahem) in English!
Gotta laugh to keep from cryin’.
It could be verse.
OK. One more revision:
