Chalkbeat reports that the hedge funders’ Democrats for Education Reform sent out text messages during the Denver teachers’ strike using the name of a non-existent organization (“Support Students, Support Teachers.”)
Why?
Obviously, DFER wanted to undercut the strike (“for the kids,” of course). Teachers have power when they strike. They lose that power when they go back to work without concrete gains.
Also, DFER does not have a good reputation in Colorado. The state Democratic Convention asked it to stop masquerading as Democrats.
But DFER has a close relationship with Governor Jared Polis, who shares DFER’s passion for charter schools, having started two of them himself.

It is obvious to me that DFER is funded and controlled by Trump-like bullies and trolls and being manipulative, deceitful and lying is as natural to them as breathing.

It’s not just DFER –
When university/billionaire-paid professors speak at events, their promo bio’s fail to list them as Gates’ Impatient Optimists. When deans list their bio’s at their university sites, they omit being Fellows of Gates-funded Pahara. When Cory Booker goes to Indiana and a school newspaper identifies him as a school privatizer, he claims he isn’t. When billionaires give money for university centers, the centers’ sites lack tabs identifying their funders. When money-influenced “scholars” post c.v.’s, they omit their grants from billionaires. Faculty rewarded by billionaires hide behind the public’s naive assumption that universities produce objective papers.
Just as sunlight affects a vampire, so does transparency scorch the hirelings of evil billionaires.

Thank you, but I can’t rely on my memory for this stuff so I use Google to find the right words. I even use Google to find out how to spell words that spell check can’t fix when I misspell them that bad. Using Google search to find things and correct impossible (for me) to spell works seldom fails me.
