I won’t summarize Mike Klonsky on “KIPP and Kopp” and the boycott idea. Suffice it to say that nothing’s going to happen on that front.

Such a typical (self-aggrandizing) Duncan comment: “It’s wildly impractical and difficult,” Duncan said. “But I think it’s wildly impractical and difficult that kids are shot when they are sent to school.”

What does Arne mean when he says “it’s wildly impractical and difficult that kids are shot when they are sent to school.”
That it works in theory but not in practice?
What a bizarre statement.

And where is Obama in all of this?
Oh, I remember now.
After he plundered, pillared, and raped public education, he and hideous wife Michelle are off having a threesome some in political bed with Reed Hastings in their new production company, making stories, narratives, and documentaries for Netflix and getting paid millions of dollars.
Wow, Barack and Michelle. You’re like . . . . MOVIE STARZ!!! SO glamorous.
All quiet on the set. Lights, camera, privatization . . . .
Who says capitalism doesn’t work?
Remember that Hastings is anti-public, school pro-privatization, and he wants to OUTLAW local school boards to replace them with state officials who appoint the school board members.
It’s very clear that the Obamas and Hastings love capitalism and hate democracy, especially when it’s local.
You can blame Duncan all you want and you should, but Duncan was little more than a prostitute with Obama as his main John . . . . Remember that Obama put NCLB on steroids. How disgusting this president was. No different than Trump, but for very opposite reasons. At least with Trump and company, you know what to expect. It’s so preodictalbe right now. Yawn.
But with Obama, you thought you were getting someone progressive, or at least a real Democrat. Oh well . . . .
Who do you hate more? The enemy or the ally who turns out to be an enemy? The jury is still out on that one, perhaps.

From the article:
“Oh, and speaking of guns, remember how Duncan tried to militarize the D.O.E. back in 2010? His purchase of 27 assault rifles had me wondering back then, if we needed an assault weapons ban on Arne?” (although they weren’t assault rifles but Remington 870 pump shotguns-big difference)
WTF. The DOE needed 27 shotguns? I wonder who has control of those guns now. Two bits says no one knows.

“Vice News” gave a camera to a student from Santa Fe, TX, and he interviewed various students. Few called for gun control. Most of them parroted the same old NRA line, “People kill people, not guns.” One student mentioned that a number of parents are transferring their children out of the school. I hope the multiple murders do not frighten parents away from public schools.

Moreover, it is a probability in the whole country, so the ultimate solution is to leave the country. Too radical for most people. But schools seem to attract more maniacs than movie theaters, night clubs or churches, go figure.

I was researching the history of teacher evaluations in NY last night and came across an article about another awful Arne idea. I knew Mayor Bloomberg was involved but hadn’t realized Arne was also onboard with the idea of publishing teachers names in the newspaper along with their students test scores.
This actually happened in NYC and LA and Arnie Duncan defended it saying the people need to know the truth. Never mind that the scores were incredibly inaccurate, attributed to the wrong teachers, out of date and subject to myriad unaccounted factors. My friend had her name published despite being on a leave of absence.
This latest move is ridiculous and I believe trying to distract from the teachers striking against austerity practices. Arne would rather have them protesting guns to preserve low taxes on billionaires.

Jake,
Arne applauded the publication of teacher ratings in NYC and LA.
He said anyone who opposed this barbaric invasion of privacy was afraid of the “truth.” Basically, he believes that our teachers are awful and our kids are dumb and coddled.
