Giovanni Cardenas was a student at the school for three years.
“I’m actually kind of surprised because it’s the first time I’d seen a school get shutdown,” he said.
Well, get used to it young people. A bunch of 50+ arrogant and reckless “disruptors” have decided you shouldn’t get to rely on the public system they all relied on.
Just revel in the chaos, kids! People who spend their entire careers as tenured professors or in think tanks think you should be more “agile” and “flexible”.
Not them! They need security and predictability. “Disruption” is only for 15 year olds.

The Board of Directors should be sued.
I hope they are. Their oversight of this school — accepting money for educating children and then taking it and closing — demonstrates a complete lack of due diligence. If they received any compensation whatsoever — not just money, but free dinners, travel, or anything else — it should be returned. And the students should sue them.l

Talk about rocking your world.
It’s also sad because that one kid was saying he’d get picked on at the other school. That, for me, is the main draw of a charter: safety. If public schools could come up with a game plan to address this issue, I think the charter school movement would stop dead in it’s tracks.
