Wednesday was the four-year anniversary of Peter Greene’s blog.

Just as many people get kicked off the receiving end of this blog, I have been kicked off the receiving end of Peter’s blog, whose name I can’t spell. Curmudgacation?
Peter has a razor-sharp wit, and a battery of invented words that he deploys with grace.
He makes laugh. He informs us. He skewers pretension. He is indispensable. He reads the dreary reports and nonsensical studies that roll forth from the reformer industry and demolishes them with grace, style, and a finely honed verbal rapier.
Thank you, Peter!

Thank you very much!

I enjoy Greene’s blog at great deal. He is clever, funny and self-deprecating. He knows how to explain the confusing in simple terms, and he knows how to shine a light on the hypocrisy of “reform” often with irony and wit. His small town perspective reminds us of the importance of community in education. He’s the Thorton Wilder of education bloggers. Congratulations for having the presence of mind to continue writing with a new baby in the house.

ATTENTION SPECTRUM (formerly BrightHouse) CUSTOMERS IN ORLANDO and TAMPA!
Please set your DVRs for “In Focus with Allison Walker Torres for TONIGHT at 8:30pm Eastern. I know it is last minute, but there was an important discussion about education.
The subject was supposed to be Digital Learning and how schools are adopting technology, but it turned into a debate about education in general because two of the guests were Florida legislators, one of which is the ringleader of the so-called “Schools of Hope” program.
They kept talking about “less focus on adults and more focus on children…follow the child….” The two superintendents who were also on the panel effectively fought back, talking about funding issues, inconsistent standards between charters and private schools, etc.
I don’t think this show is archived online, but hopefully a reader here will be able to catch it.

LOVE your blog, Peter! I read it every day, and I’m a huge admirer of the amount of work you put out after teaching a full day and raising a family.
