A charter school in Clay County, Florida, received two consecutive F grades from the state and is losing its contract.
But never fear!
The Orange Park Performing Arts Academy will not close! It is converting to a private school and has assured its students that they are all eligible to receive scholarships from the state of Florida!
“The charter has been terminated, the school has not closed. The district has no power to close Orange Park Performing Arts Academy, they can terminate their contract. We need to be very clear because at the end of the day, it’s all about the students,” said Chris Norwood, president and founder of the Miami-based Florida Association of Independent Charter Schools Inc.
Yes, it is all about the students!

Wasn’t the key premise of charter schools the following trade-off:
“more autonomy or freedom from oversight BUT, IN EXCHANGE FOR THAT, THERE WILL BE greater accountability, up to and including charter schools getting shut down then they suck.”
So much for that second half of the premise.

They care so much about students, they subjected those kids to a failing charter school!

No surprise! Flori-DUH messes over their students again and again…and FOR PROFIT of course. Disgusting. The deformers are FOR THEIR POCKETBOOKS…KA-Ching.
This is totally sickening. But then I truly think the deformers don’t care. I SUSPECT the deformers’ children and grandchildren attended or attend PRIVATE PREPPY SCHOOLS, where one can “buy” their degree(s) via big donations.
Every time I receive a questionnaire from the DEMs, if there is a place to for comments, I write, “Support OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS and Public School Teachers.” Maybe one of these days, the DEMs will see the light, but I am not holding my breath.
