The Indivisibles started out as a guide for people who wanted to oppose the Trump agenda. It was specific advice offered by former Congressional staff members.
Among other things, it urged people to attend town hall meetings with their elected officials. Thousands of people responded and we have already seen how members of the public are demanding action from their representatives to protect their health care, to stand up for the environment, to oppose the defunding of public schools, and to stop proposals that would harm our society and its most vulnerable members.
Here is an update from the Indivisibles.

Ok. I am an Indivisible chapter member in the SFBay area where I head the Public Education Working group. Would the NPE conference in October be useful to attend, or is it primarily for educators, researchers and administrators? Thx.

Do David Brock or CAP have any involvement in Indivisibles?

Linda,
I don’t know but I doubt it.
Indivisible is grassroots. Directed from below.

In our group we receive no direction from anyone on education policy and if we did it would be up to the local group to decide whether they would support a particular policy. I did a presentation to our group on who is behind DFER. To date my local group has received no funds form anyone outside our membership, to my knowledge. Certainly not any billionaires that I am aware of. The head of our group is a mom, not a political operative.

I hope John Podesto, David Brock, CAP, DFER, and Act Blue are frozen out of the Indivisibles. Opposing Trump is important but, if organizations leading that resistance are aiding Gates and Walton heirs to corporatize public education- America’s most important common good-elections will continue to go Republican, because it’s proof that the Dem Party has no soul. Brock continues to promote school privatizer and hedge fund pal, Corey Booker, at the Share Blue website.

Linda Act Blue is a funding app used by all Dems . Progressives as well as corporate shills.
There are words I have a tough time putting together . Oligarch -Populist, Neo-liberal – Liberal , Democrats – Gates +Walton .
The Republicans since Goldwater have moved in one direction and become a right wing party , I am fine with that ,I would never vote for them but you know where they stand . I wish I could say the same for the Democrats who have become the party of Wall Street and Welfare. A paper thin safety net to catch the carnage of Wall Street.
Booker- Democrat

A couple of years ago, I contacted Act Blue and received a defense for its welcome mat to DFER fundraising. The Donna Brazile political ploy, Democrats for Public Education never had a page at Act Blue. As a result, I avoid the Act Blue website, and mail checks directly to the causes I support.
The Ohio Democratic Party Chair wrote a public letter stating that Corey Booker is the future of the Democratic Party. If he is the future, there is no future for American democracy- my projection.

Linda,
I will not support Booker or anyone who supports him

Joel- You may recall Mercedes Schneider pointed out that Brock’s Media Matters omitted Gates/Walton/Broad and DFER in its April 27, 2016 article that labeled privatization as right wing.
The Dem. hierarchy plots to have it both ways. They must be disabused of that notion if the Party is going to stop bleeding legislative, judicial and executive seats.

I posted a blog criticizing Media Matters for not identifying those groups and individuals during privatization–before Mercedes

Not disagreeing . As for Act Blue don’t leave a tip . It is still an effective means of small donor collection.

Joel, I always learn from your comments.
Let me add to your point, “don’t leave a tip”. Tell Act Blue to stop fund raising for hedge fund and tech tyrants, people who are hell-bent on privatizing America’s most important common good for their own financial benefit.
I can’t begin to express the gratitude I have for Diane, carrying the spirit of democracy, in the darkest hours of unrelenting greed.
