Thousands of students of the defunct Trump University will recover most of the money they paid for phony courses. The $25 million settlement was approved by Judge Gonzalo Curiel, the jurist attacked by Trump during the campaign as biased and racist because of his Mexican-American heritage.

In advertisements for Trump University, Trump claimed to have hand-picked every instructor. When giving a deposition, he couldn’t name a single one.
Too bad there were no punitive damages.

Punitive damages should be available to such blatent fraud.

I still don’t understand why anyone would have voted for the Orange Buffoon. He has never demonstrated any ethics or morals in anything that he has done.
Maybe I can blame the mainstream media for not telling the truth of the disasters that have followed the Orange one throughout his life. They were too busy making sales and therefore, money off the outrageous behavior that he showed day after day.
Still, who wants a President who demonstrates outrageous behavior and can’t talk in complete sentences?

He flushed their cash and deprived them of knowledge. Then he had the nerve to declare that the American Education does that. That was some “weird shit” according to former President #43. Anyone who believes this man has any intent of doing good is nuts.

I find this to be frightening. Why does a ‘kill list’ exist? I feel that the US is becoming a horrible monster. So much for not being guilty until proven.

US Journalist Sues Trump Administration Over His Inclusion on US “Kill List”
By Simon Hooper and Amandla Thomas-Johnson, Middle East Eye
31 March 17
Lawyers for Syria-based reporter and former Al Jazeera bureau chief Ahmad Zaidan say pair have been ‘targeted for death’ by US government.
Lawyers for a US journalist and a former Al Jazeera bureau chief based in rebel-held northern Syria have filed a lawsuit against US President Donald Trump and other senior officials who they say have placed them on an alleged “kill list”.
Human rights group Reprieve filed the case on behalf of Bilal Abdul Kareem and Ahmad Zaidan, a former Islamabad bureau chief for Al Jazeera Arabic, in the US District Court in Washington on Thursday….
Kate Higham, Head of the Assassinations Project at Reprieve –said: “It is an affront to US values that journalists are living in fear of being killed by US drones, simply for doing their jobs. The inclusion of reporters on a US ‘kill list’ on the basis of their metadata makes a mockery of due process, and will do nothing to make Americans safer. President Trump must urgently review the entire targeting program, before any reporters are killed on his watch.”
Jeffrey Robinson, attorney at Lewis Baach who filed the complaint along with Reprieve, said: “It is a basic principle of the rule of law that innocent people should not be targeted and killed. This is especially the case with courageous journalists performing an essential function of keeping the public informed.”…
Little is known in the public domain about the US government’s alleged secret kill list, although media reports suggest it is known in counter-terrorism circles as the “Disposition Matrix”.
A Washington Post article in 2012 reported that the list had first been drawn up in 2010 and consisted of a database of information for tracking, capturing, rendering or killing suspected enemies of the US…

I believe that each person who comes to the US is desperately looking for a better way of life. I stress the word “desperately” because these people do the jobs that nobody else wants. They live in fear for themselves and their children. What is to happen when parents are rounded up and taken into detention while their kids are left alone at home? One immigrant committed suicide recently after being held in a detention camp for three months. What is to happen to children who have live their whole lives in the US and don’t speak their parent’s native language?
It is easy for wealthy Trump to condemn. Would the poor whites who support Trump want to leave their homes and work in the fields? I doubt that they would.
Trump has no respect for the damage that pesticides are doing to the environment. Big Business needs to make profits.Nothing else matters.

A Migrant Farmworker’s Words for Trump Migrant Farmworker’s Words for Trump
Mar 24, 2017 | 561 videos
Video by Monica Wise and Pilar Timpane
Reyna arrived to the United States in 1999 at the age of 14. She immediately began working on a conventional farm, where there was extensive use of chemical pesticides. “We don’t see a lot of justice for our environment,” she says in this short film, Una Mala Hierba. “So at the same time, there is no justice for the farmworkers who are working the land.” Today, she works on a smaller, organic farm in Ventura County, California. In the film, she explains her feelings on why Trump is a mala hierba, “very bad weed,” for the immigrant community.
This film was directed and produced by Monica Wise and Pilar Timpane. Their newest project is The Last Partera, a documentary which takes place in the Turrialba Valley of Costa Rica.

Diane,
How can you have the audacity to suggest punitive damages for Trump?
What were you thinking?
Don’t you know by now that the rich and powerful are perhaps scrutinized and tried in court, but they are never found guilty, and if they are, they never pay a REAL price for their pernicious behavior?
They are, after all, the rich.
The American rich.
Justice and punishment are only for the little people.

Norwegian Filmmaker,
“Justice and punishment are only for the little people.” Taxes too. Leona Helmsley said it first. Hire the right accountant and tax lawyers and you pay nothing. There’s a persistent rumor that it was Trump himself who sent the first two pages of his 2005 tax return to Rachel Maddow, to prove that he did pay taxes. But that may have been the only year in the past 20 years that he paid taxes. It is up to the rest of us to fund the military, the schools, the public parks, Social Security, etc., and all the services that Trump plans to eliminate.

It is amazing that people who will be hurt by Trump’s budget are still clinging to the idea that they will vote for him. A recent poll said that 3% of the population would change if a vote was held today. Hopefully that will result in change of direction for this country. I’m also hopeful that the Russian connection will prove tRump’s downfall.

This is a fine example of justice being served. It’s a shame that these students were conned out of an education in the first place. For-profit institutions have always had a negative connotation with them, and in my opinion that is for good reason. They seem to be nothing but for-profit only, and lack a mission or vision aimed at making a difference. Now that Trump is POS, teachers need to teach students, and Americans worldwide along with the international community need to react and enact change and protest when something like this happens again. There has been no news on Trump ordering the MOAL dropped in Afghanistan last week, and this is terrifying. People need to be made aware of what is going on. Let’s not let the future of the world be passed on like that of an Apple update.
