The New York Times reports that two former Trump advisors have set up a lobbying firm to protect their clients against nasty tweets that can send their stock price into decline.
Attention: corporate America.
For a fee, Corey Lewandowski, President Trump’s pugilistic former campaign manager, and Barry Bennett, a former Trump senior adviser, will protect you from “tweet risk” — what happens to the stock price and reputation of your company when the president tells his 26 million Twitter followers that you’re killing factory jobs or refusing to sell Ivanka Trump handbags.
“If he’s gonna come after you, there’s nothing we can do to stop it,” Mr. Bennett said of Avenue Strategies, the firm he and Mr. Lewandowski opened in offices overlooking Mr. Trump’s White House bedroom window. “But if you want to figure out how to win in this environment, we can help you.
Raw Story says that the lobbyists hope to get foreign clients that want something from the Trump administration. They insist they are not “cashing in.” Right. And when Trump said that Obama wire tapped his phones, he didn’t mean that Obama tapped his phones.

Na-na land. Too incredible. I guess we can be glad someone is pushing back–so to speak.

I see an emerging market for entrepreneurial teachers to put together lesson plans in comparative U.S. history: this story could be applied to lessons on Boss Tweed and Teapot Dome.

I am surprised that they would publicly lay out their strategy for manipulating Trump. Even if he doesn’t read, I suspect someone in the WH does.

Trump probably gave them the idea. Many of his business dealings involved the Mob who are experts on extracting protection money from their clients.

I hope some good hackers can get these corrupt AH’s and blow this right back up at them. This administration is getting beyond out of hand.

alphawolf1 From the NYT article: “He said they’d tell President Enrique Peña Nieto to ‘make it look like they’re paying for the wall; or risk Mr. Trump ‘poaching every factory across the border with an American name on it.'”
I think this is real, but it has the sound of fake news. How strange is that?
I have to wonder if Trump realizes what is happening, or is he SO wrapped up in his narcissism and short-term alcoholic-like self-idolization that he just doesn’t know how user-friendly he is?
But the article reminded of a Bernie Madoff scheme. At some point, It has to implode. Reality isn’t called “reality” for nothing. Though it takes it’s snails-pace time and seems not to care much for the roadkill left behind from such scum-scam, historically, it doesn’t stand for such machinations and simply implodes of its own disorder.
Pardon me while I try to stop my head from spinning.

How will it implode? Trump’s gang controls the Justice dept & federal prosecutors. Jeff Sessions decides on prosecutorial priorities & I don;t see him doing any investigations of Trump’s inner circle. Unless congress stops him or James Comey has the FBI investigate we have an executive branch bring run by frauds, criminals & kleptocrats.
And we’re only 2.5 months into this fiasco.

jcgrim I cannot answer that question–and I’m certainly not saying anyone should sit back and wait–WE are responsible for the sooner-or-later aspect of implosion, just as those on the destructive and/or apathetic side are responsible for that destruction and for where it seems to be headed.

Trump hires foreign workers so that he doesn’t have to pay them decent wages. This family has a whole range of dubious ways to make money. How nice it would be to see some ethics and morality.
Here is an article from the New Yorker:
…….
THE FOREIGN WORKERS OF MAR-A-LAGO
The President has a dim view of extending visas to employees in the technology industry. But, when it comes to his club, it’s a different story.
By Sheelah Kolhatkar
…The sixty-four foreign dishwashers, cooks, cleaners, and gardeners that Mar-a-Lago is expected to employ this year will be paid per hour roughly what they were paid last year. (The Palm Beach Post reported that the range is around ten to thirteen dollars an hour.) The foreign workers brought in to help staff the club tend to come from two countries, Haiti and Romania, according to someone who works at Mar-a-Lago as an employee of an outside contractor. Other clubs and resorts nearby hire even more H-2B workers than Mar-a-Lago does. “It’s very common in South Florida. He’s not the only one,” the person who works at Mar-a-Lago said. “But he is the President, and he has an example to set. Whatever they’ve said—‘We cannot find these people just for six months out of the year’—baloney. If you’re paying a decent wage, you’ll find people to work.”…
