   Why do conservatives hate women?

   They don’t want women voting, they don’t want women to control their own bodies, they want to decriminalize rape, they seem to have no problem with domestic abuse. How any thinking woman can vote republican is beyond me.

     It isn’t “conservatives” that “hate women”. It is the far right religious (xtian) reactionary regressives who want to impose their own form of xtian sharia law onto everyone else.

     Conservatives preserve/conserve that which is good in society-most teachers are conservative in that regard, they do not destroy it as those reactionary regressives seek to do.

       Agreed, Duane. Conservatives conserve. They don’t destroy democratic institutions for the Advancement of the “Kingdom.” Trump, never known for having or practicing any religious beliefs, has empowered the aggressive evangelical right.

     I am a fiscal conservative, and I do not hate women.

     I am solidly pro-choice on reproductive rights.

     I do not wish to decriminalize sexual violence.

     I have zero tolerance for domestic abuse

     Women’s suffrage has been constitutionally protected since the 19th amendment. I totally support the right to vote for all citizens.

     Please do not “tar” all conservatives with the “same brush”.

   Wonder how much brain damage he has caused his wife…and why she would stay with such an abuser?

   How many Trumpists are abusers, just wondering?

   And the latest info on Exxon Mobil shows that Trump does seem to work for them (see his word for word repetition of what he was told to say, and he did)…and by extension they are purported to be the real authority running our country. Hard to keep up with it all. Also the promised use of American Steel to build the Canadian pipeline to export gas to foreign countries while defiling Standing Rock and other water tables, is really coming from Russia and other nations than America. So much devolution flying around cyberspace.

   What can one believe? See Leon Panetta today being interviewed by Wolf Blitzer.

     Ellen, I cannot imagine why a woman would stay with a man like this, but I know a few women who stay with their abusers.

       I know a woman who ran off in the middle of the night with her kid to get away from her abusive husband. He never saw it coming. He found someone to replace her pretty quickly. Off topic, I know.

   How deluded do you have to be to not just say that publicly, but to testify to it, AND (assuming the question wasn’t about how he treats his wife) it was incidental to the point of his testimony, I.e., he volunteered this information in the course of making another point. Apparently he considered that incidental information & it didn’t even occur to him that some people might have a problem with it.

   Peter Thiel, on Facebook’s board and a speaker at the Republican convention, pronounced that the combination of women voting and capitalistic democracy, was an oxymoron. The tech industry is dominated by anti-woman bias.
