Trump’s brain, who is known as Steve Bannon, said many ominous things yesterday when he spoke at CPAC. He promised a daily fight in the Trump battle to remake America into something different. Most ominous, he said the goal was “the deconstruction of the administrative state.”
What does this mean?
No more environmental regulation? No more gun control? No more regulation at all? The rollback of the New Deal? No civil rights enforcement? A libertarian dream of no government? A Hobbesian world?
The Religious Reich! Welcome back to the Dark Ages.
Meanwhile Trump battles the FBI, mistakenly, on Twitter. Sounds like the leak came from within the White House! And his advisor battles a highly esteemed expert on counterterrorism on Twitter AND threatens to sue in a would-be concealed phone call!
What a bunch of little kids playing with the world! Like we did back in the Dark Ages, before enlightenment.
This notice from The Hill moments ago shows that we are now have and openly acknowledged, full scale totalitarian government that has eliminated the First Amendment.
The WH today has just banned the ‘free media’ who they have been calling the “enemy of America”. Included in this ban is the LA Times, the NY Times, and CNN…plus many others.
This will lead us into a Civil War. It must be stopped RIGHT NOW.
Contact all your legislators, and all the Republicans you know including all Republican legislators.
DO NOT WAIT until Bannon/Trump put troops in the streets, take over all our bank accounts, take down the grids to stop emailing and cell phones, stop anyone from exiting or entering the US…and accomplish a complete FASCIST coup.
They promised this at CPAC this week and today it has begun. Never in American history has an administration banned the media…this is exactly how Hitler and Goebbels took over Germany.
We cannot wait for anything else. RESIST TODAY.
From the Hill…..

White House hand-picks select media for briefing
The White House blocked a number of news outlets from covering spokesman Sean Spicer’s question-and-answer session on Friday afternoon.
Spicer decided to hold an off-camera “gaggle” with reporters inside his West Wing office instead of the traditional on-camera briefing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
Among the outlets not permitted to cover the gaggle were news organizations that President Trump has singled out for criticism, including CNN.
The New York Times, The Hill, Politico, BuzzFeed, the Daily Mail, BBC, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Daily News were among the other news organizations not permitted to attend.

I just called my two Senators, and my Congresswoman. Senators had message machines, but spoke to Congressional office…and they are has furious as I am…and she is working on this. CALL ALL your legislators NOW. We cannot have the FREE PRESS and media banned from the WH.
Ellen Thanks for all of these links. I see that state legislatures are moving to criminalize protests. Arizona Republicans have introduced a measure to expand racketeering laws, which target organized crime groups, to include rioting. The bill would allow police officers to arrest and the seize the assets of those who organize protest events.
Anyone who thinks “we should just give Trumpsters a chance” will be the next in line for censorship or jail.
Laura…you point out the most frightening aspect of this Bannon/Trump coup. If Arizona is already devising legislation to ban protesting by making it an indictable event under new law, what is left of any shred of our democratic life in America?
I have mentioned here over the years the new anti protest weaponry manufactured to keep down Occupy-like protest, and which could be used against all who march on Woman’s Day. This tank-like weapon can throw heat from a distance of blocks away to disband marchers and protesters. It does not require hoses and billy clubs in hand to hand encounters.
We are caught up in the most dangerous of times…and the New Civil War is already in progress IMO.
If this ‘so-called’ president who is the mini-me to Bannon, can shut out the media and trample, with no resistance nor outcry from his Republican party, on the our venerated First Amendment, the core of our system of government, then what will come next?
We keep hearing that this group of autocrats had no plan to govern…but it would seem they had a clear plan to turn our nation into a rapidly emerging fascistic society, and now McConnell, Ryan, Cruz, et al, are lapping it up.
Thanks for the laugh! We all could use one right now.
…But NO-BODY expects the Spanish Inquisition, right?
It wouldn’t be the Spanish Inquisition. It would be the 2nd American inquisition. The first U.S. inquisition took place with McCarthyism.
McCarthyism was an inquisition and it ruined lives.
Definition: a period of prolonged and intensive questioning or investigation; an investigation conducted with little regard for individual rights
McCarthyism was the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence. It also means “the practice of making unfair allegations or using unfair investigative techniques, especially in order to restrict dissent or political criticism.”

Re: What does this mean?
DOTAS + Economic Nazism = COG (Corporate Owned Government)
Thank you for pointing this out. There are volumes of sinister intent implied in that phrase.
Including the hidden meaning DESTRUCTION which is most likely lurking behind the word deconstruction. Bannon appears to want nothing less than absolute dictatorship.
Have you called your Representatives yet , TODAY to request impeachment.
Anarchy
noun
1. a state of society without government or law.
political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control:
The death of the king was followed by a year of anarchy.
Synonyms: lawlessness, disruption, turmoil.
anarchism (def 1).
lack of obedience to an authority; insubordination:
the anarchy of his rebellious teenage years.
confusion and disorder: Intellectual and moral anarchy followed his loss of faith.
It was impossible to find the book I was looking for in the anarchy of his bookshelves.
Synonyms: chaos, disruption, turbulence; license; disorganization, disintegration.
Even if you don’t believe in owning a firearm, think again, and buy one soon. You will need it to defend your home and life and maybe join the revolution after it explodes across the country. A shotgun is the best defense for your home — not bird shot. Use buckshot designed for hunters to shoot large animals like deer or bear. A small caliber weapon works for personal defense. There is also pepper spray. Don’t just buy it. Learn how to use it and how to shoot straight. If you plan to join the revolution, you will want to consider larger caliber rifles and automatic pistols in addition to a bulletproof vest.
It is painfully obvious that with the malignant narcissist in the White House and his own Rasputin-Goebbels Steve Bannon controlling his ear and brain, the U.S. Constitution will soon be toilet paper and the free press swept out of sight if the GOP majority in both Houses of Congress does not stop him and so far the odds are against that happening.

I am glad I still want to be able to fly . But I was thinking about you today. Enough said.
I’d rather drive.
Just call it “destruction” already, Bannon. It’s not like you’re Jacques Derrida.
My thought exactly. It’s like these pseudo-intellectuals on Das Alte Reich have just now stumbled over the relics of post*modernism 20 years after it passed on …
Bottom line: Bannon and the DUMP are psychologically SICK in more than one way.
These wannabe authoritarians can’t take the heat from the media and the press. Tough luck, there’s more to come. It’s not just the media, it’s also millions of Americans who puke at the mere sight of Bannon, Trump, Miller and the whole entourage of Trumpian gargoyles.
We should not let ourselves be bamboozled by Bannon’s diversionary drivel.
Here is the best explanation I’ve seen in a while as to what he’s really about:
Steve Bannon is the Hans Gruber of American Politics
Thanks Jon…everyone here should subscribe to VOX…it is consistently accurate.

What does it mean?
It’s been great fun watching mainstream journalists and some on this blog, who are not fluent in these things, talk about the administrative state as if they understand what Bannon means.
The “administrative state” is the term of art for the permanent bureaucracy, which has come untethered from constitutional moorings (please read Phillip Hamburger’s Is Administrative Law Unlawful?, or Charles Murray’s By the People.
Most of the law being created in this country is now created on autopilot, written by unelected mandarins in the bowels of the government. It is the direct result of Congress’s decades-long surrender of its powers to the executive branch. The CIA is not the “deep state” — the FDA, OSHA, FCC, EPA, and countless other agencies are.
If Bannon and Trump can in fact responsibly dismantle the administrative state and return lawmaking to Congress and the courts (where appropriate),
and I don the MAGA hat.
The bulk of that work must be done by Congress, not the presidency. And any attempt to simply move the unlawful arbitrary power of the administrative state to the political operation of the West Wing will not be a triumph for liberty, it will simply amount to replacing one form of arbitrary power with another.
Bannon wants to eliminate environmental regulations, public education, healthcare, gun control. Terrible things. No one wants any of that. Let the corporations be free to loot us. Without pesky government intervention.
Essentially what Bannon intends to do is shut down two parts of our system, the Judiciary and the Congress, and have only Executive rule. And that is what he is using Trump to do, as he also colludes with the ruling Repubs to destroy our govenment from within, in the background. Grover is laughing at this drowning.
He is rapidly taking over our nation by FIAT. And although many responsible Americans are trying to get up to speed to RESIST, he has been planning this coup for many years and has finally found the tools, like Trump and his family, to disassemble our Constitutional nation of Laws.
When reading Hamburger’s book he concurs that it is unlawful :”Medieval parliaments periodically tried to confine the Crown to governing through regular law, but the most effective response was the seventeenth-century development of English constitutional law, which concluded that the government could rule only through the law of the land and the courts, not through administrative edicts. Although the US Constitution pursued this conclusion even more vigorously, administrative power reemerged in the Progressive and New Deal Eras. Since then, Hamburger argues, administrative law has returned American government and society to precisely the sort of consolidated or absolute power that the US Constitution—and constitutions in general—were designed to prevent.
With a clear yet many-layered argument that draws on history, law, and legal thought, Is Administrative Law Unlawful? reveals administrative law to be not a benign, natural outgrowth of contemporary government but a pernicious—and profoundly unlawful—return to dangerous pre-constitutional absolutism.”
Your contentions may explain why the administration has been bumbling around. Rather than use the bureaucracy to write their plans out and spend their time refining it, they choose to toss out hastily written pronouncements and see what floats. I’m sure since all of them are of “superior intellect,” they can handle all the minutia involved in making sure their plans are coherent. Heaven forbid that people with experience in their fields interfere with their grand schemes. As Trump indicated, he doesn’t need daily intelligence briefings ’cause he’s smart. Of course, it could be that they are all just so darn paranoid, that they can’t trust anyone to execute their mission but them. Heck, they don’t even trust each other enough to share information, so they can stop contradicting each other.
The original purpose of allowing corporations is to provide goods & services to the people. They could and should be held accountable for serving that purpose appropriately. I am in favour of consumer protections. Consumers are people. People are the point. I am people.
