Sean Spicer has referred to terrorist attacks in Boston, San Bernadino, and Atlanta as justification for Trump’s ban on travel from seven Muslim-majority nations. He has mentioned them at least three times.
Do you remember the Atlanta terrorist attack? Neither do I. Neither does the Atlanta police.
There was a bombing carried out by a rightwing radical named Eric Rudolph at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. A year later, a lesbian nightclub was bombed. No one ever said these were the work of Islamic radicals.
What is it with these people? What websites do they read?
Maybe they are trying to create a new line of work for researchers as fact-checkers. A job-creation program. Trump can claim credit for expanding the employment rolls.

Maybe he meant Atlantis 🌋

While we are at it lets even the score on terrorism a little . I think its time for subtractions .
Subtract: the attack in Canada that Littlehands, nobrains neglects to mention. Because it was an attack on Muslims killing six .
Subtract: this Munich shooting: Teenage killer Ali Sonboly ‘inspired by far-right terrorist Anders Breivik’ and ‘used Facebook offer of free McDonald’s food to lure victims’. Killing 9
Subtract: Anders Breivik who killed close to 80 people in an anti Muslim attack in Norway
Subtract : The Department of Justice charged three men with plotting to bomb an apartment complex in Garden City, Kan., where Somali immigrants live and worship
And while we are in the subtraction department scratch Orlando off the list .
If this was the only person claiming to know the night club attacker you might question it .As there are multiple reports I believe it is credible .

And not for nothing when you invade a country on false pretense causing the deaths of up to 100,000 people you are not a terrorist you are a war criminal. You are so right Diane. We have to laugh and enjoy life. Interestingly, the best protest music and protest art came during the Vietnam era. Think of the comedy coming from this man. Saturday Night Live has not been this good in over 30 years. I just wish I could lighten up, but it is still hard for me to deal with all this. I have just started listening to more novels in my car–I do a lot of driving. By the way, I am linking people to your site all the time when I post educational stuff on Facebook. You will have an even wider audience once you know who denounces you in a Twitter. To me, to be denounce by that man on Twitter is a mark of honor.

I read an opinion piece in which the writer pleaded with Trump to attack him on Twitter. Trump tweets made John Lewis’s books bestsellers. SNL is thriving. But my ex-husband called and warned me, do you know how much power this man has? The IRS, THE FBI? Etc.
I’m waiting for the knock on the door but I prefer a tweet.

I can’t even imagine going through 4 years of these horrible people with their lies and obfuscations. Truth, sanity and common sense are being trampled into the dust. Speaking of the Atlanta Olympics bombing of 1996, which brings to mind the tragic figure of Richard Jewell who went from hero to suspect in a blink of the eye. His life was derailed and dissected in minute detail on the media almost 24/7. I distinctly remember the radio personality, Lionel, saying: “Just look at him, he’s guilty, he’s guilty.” (not an exact quote but very close). Lionel is a lawyer and he was a prosecutor in Florida. One can only wonder how many innocent people he locked up. Jewell became an object of ridicule and revilement, his reputation was ruined. He eventually was cleared but the damage had been done. He was able to move on and did recover from the worst of it. He died at age 44. They should erect a statue to this man who was a true hero.

I remember in the Atlanta bombing at the Olympics the security guard that found the bomb was accused of planting it. It took a long time for the FBI to drop this guy as the main suspect. The real perp was a former military man, and the bombing had nothing to do with Muslims. Trump’s ban makes no sense.

Perhaps, though, a growing portion of the nation has become so numbed by “reality” TV shows where loud, surreal drama is the name of the game that they are willing to watch his antics as if he were only there for entertainment….no actual support, action or following intended.

Ciedie aech, that may well be true. But those reality-TV numbed people who voted for Trump will start to regret it when they find that their jobs are not coming back, their infrastructure continues to crumble, their neighborhood schools are destroyed but many of their kids are not welcome in the charter and private schools (in areas where there even exist any charter and private schools, which are generally not in the rural areas), their Medicare and Social Security is privatized, their medical insurance under the ACA disappears, and on and on.
Maybe, just maybe, they will begin to wake up then. I just hope it’s not too late.

He¹s not only happy about the chaos, he wants to start
WWIII. This author did an autopsy of his 2010 film Generation Zero about
the theory of historical determinism- the idea that catastrophic events
are destined to happen in predictable cycles. The movie blames the 2008
Wall St crash on 60¹s liberals & a corrupt govt /wall st relationship.
Wall St is a big problem but strange coming from someone who is a

Bannon and the Vatican. The Gates Foundation and the “Christian” right.
Peggy Lehner, who is Ohio’s state senate chair, of the education committee, founded Conservatives Leaders for Education. Lehner was one of the Republican politicians, at the recent pro-birth rally, in Kettering. Her sister, is president of the Gates-funded NCTQ. Lehner’s CL4E, posted recommendations for Trump’s Sec. of Ed. The list included, among others, a former president of Pat Robertson’s university/former Gates Foundation education consultant and DeVos.

Unrelated- Schneider reported, in Jan. 2016, that Hanna Skandera (who happens to be a Fellow of the Gates-funded Pahara Institute) became chair of PARCC’s governing board. Also, that Jan., Gates gave $15 mil. to one of the owners of Common Core.
Conservative Leaders for Education, in its posted list of recommended candidates for Trump’s U.S. Secretary of Ed., included Hanna Skandera.
PARCC, a consortium of 24 states, in 2010, had only 9 states, by July 2016. And, one of those states, limited the tests to just one segment of K-12 students.

When PARCC drops to 0 states, we can all party. Let’s see how DeVos acts on Trump’s pledge to “eliminate” Common Core. Jeb would be very disappointed. But she has no power to eliminate it anyway. Unless she made doing so a condition of federal funding, like Arne did.

As far as I can see, the vast majority of the examples listed in the article were committed by people who would have been let in the country during the ban because they were American citizens. For example, here is the first one
Little Rock, Arkansas, June 1, 2009. Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad shot and murdered one soldier, Army Pvt. William Andrew Long, and injured another, Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, at a military recruiting station in Little Rock. Muhammad reportedly converted to Islam in college and was on the FBI’s radar after being arrested in Yemen–a hotbed of radical Islamic terrorism–for using a Somali passport, even though he was a U.S. citizen. In a note to an Arkansas judge, Muhammad claimed to be a member of al-Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula, the terror group’s Yemen chapter.
This is why the Muslim ban was nuts: terrorism by non-US citizens here averaged 2/year in the last 15 years. Toddlers kill 20 people yearly, so do lightnings. So banning toddlers and lightning would make us 10 times (1,000%) safer than the Muslim ban.
Of course we haven’t even talked about cars which kill 20,000 Americans each year which is 10,000,000% of the number of people killed by non-American terrorists.

How about guns, Máté Wierdl? I’m not even talking about criminals using guns, I’m talking about people using guns mistakenly to shoot somebody who scares them, guns accidentally going off while some idiot is cleaning them or playing with them without checking to see if they are unloaded, and, as you implied, toddlers and young children picking up an unsecured gun and killing themselves, a friend or sibling, or a parent.

11K deaths by a gun of another American.
So yeah, Trump should ban Americans first to make Amerika safe again.
But he couldn’t care less about safety, and he isn’t focusing on essential issues but rather whatever gives him a theater.
This is why I tried to distract him with banning lightning (I think he should do the vetting personally, he’ll love it, it’s great), or lawnmowers, since people care about these two issues a great deal, but at the same time banning them would make us safer than banning Muslims.
