Carl Paladino is a wealthy developer in Buffalo and a member of the school board. He ran against Andrew Cuomo and lost. He is known for making disgusting racist and sexist remarks. A local website–artvoice.com–asked Buffalo celebrities what they hoped for in 2017. This was his response.
Here are the questions posed to a group of Buffalo “celebrities”, and Paladino’s responses. Please share widely and make this go viral—Mr. Paladino, a major Trump supporter in New York State should be held accountable for his heinous words.
THE QUESTIONS WE POSED:
1. What would you most like to happen in 2017?
2. What would you like to see go away in 2017?
3. Who would you like to see run for mayor of Buffalo in next year’s election?
4. Should the new $50 million Amtrak station be at Central Terminal or Canal Side?
Carl Paladino
DEVELOPER, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER, POLITICAL ACTIVIST
1. Obama catches mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Herford. He dies before his trial and is buried in a cow pasture next to Valerie Jarret, who died weeks prior, after being convicted of sedition and treason, when a Jihady cell mate mistook her for being a nice person and decapitated her.
2. Michelle Obama. I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.
3. Someone with a brain, a set of balls and a lack of fear who has enough money so as not to owe anyone anything once elected and who believes in a market economy.
4. We need a $50 million dollar train station as much as we need parasitic people like Lou Ciminelli, 80% of the school board and the dizziness of socialistic progressive politicians who never signed the front of a paycheck. At best 400 people a day take a train. They are not complaining about exchange or Depew. We are already the laughingstock of America for having the dumbest elected leaders ever. Why add to it.
WHAT DO WE WANT FOR 2017? We have a Lot of Different Opinions

I’m sorry, but there are certain things that should NOT be spoken, and what that scumbag said is an example of that. The disgusting insinuations and outright sexism and racism should not exist in a supposedly “developed” society.

Terry Kalb, I called and they are taking names and numbers if you call. I told her I felt I had a right to call because the granddaughter in my family lives in Albany New York (that family is 1/2 Yankee and 1/2 is of immigrant families from the Middle East who have been here for several generations (syrian/lebanese etc). I know what was done in the 1930s and we need to speak up for our kids…. Also, this total hate of women like Michelle (or any woman who has college education , experience, but is not a “business man”)…. There was some good advice shared on NPR today about DACA and telling students what they could or should do… “your name is already on the list”…. so the advice depends on circumstances but the colleges are making attempts (at least those interviewed on WBUR) to advise students about their status….

I only read the first two because it is so disgusting my ire is raised. My friend who is also divorced with no children said “if the mushroom cloud comes over Haverhill we don’t have much to worry about because at this age the stars are already written.” but I sure worry about other people’s kids (and grandkids). And especiay my sister in Austin TX whose grand kids are of mixed heritage (she has grandchildren are 1/4 Yankee, 1/4 Mexican American and 1/2 black and I tell the ones in TX to keep an extra copy of their paper work at grandma’s house in Austin ). I know I am repeating myself but this garbage from paladino is highly inflammatory and need my energy to work on the “No on #2” because the governor in MA is pulling charters in every way he can and he will add vouchers and ESAs (the favorite of the Walmart Foundation that funds the research at Univeristy of Arkansas)… I know I posted these issues before and my concerns about anti-semitism ; Another one in my Boston University alumni magazine today is “character education” in 36 states.. and I know what that means in a world of Devos.. Marty West who enforces “grit” measurement (lthrough board members and David Driscoll at NAEP) writes about “Catholic Schoos for Catholic Students” and for Devos that means “evangelical ” schools. And the “libertarian” think tank in Boston Pioneer Institute has a director who says I am anti-Catholic because I won’t support charfer schools. I’ve got enough battles for one day…

From the buffalo news: Paladino verified to The Buffalo News that he did make the comments, while at the same time slamming News editors for inquiring.
“Of course I did,” he said Friday morning. “Tell them all to go f— themselves.”
“Tell that Rod Watson I made that comment just for him,” he continued, referencing one of the News’ black editors who is also a columnist.
[Paladino’s ‘Asian’ comments spark condemnation, discussion]
Paladino said he made the statements because of what he considered Obama’s ineffective response to the crisis in Aleppo. He called Obama the worst president in the history of the United States and criticized him for “putting criminals back on the streets.”

cuomo speaks out as you mentioned and it is important what WE do also … as parents and teachers guiding young people it is important to get into the conversation. Good principals also show leadership in the school community. This is cultural change and we need to “bend the arc” as some groups are saying…. offer a different model, what are the opposite viewpoints, assert that there is a different perspective. Yes, Paladino will insist on having his right to say these things but it is essential to point out that the public forum is not your private kitchen or workshop or “locker room”. Not all of this can be fixed with courts and judges — it is cultural change that requires each one of us.
In the area of abusive violence to women (that often comes from the same kinds of people like Palladino) there are two books that are significant in getting to understand the problem. Our Guys follows the history of a youth who is adopted and she has cognitive disabilities; what do we do in the schools/culture when these students bring different needs to the school…. the culture of the school (in terms of bullying and humiliation) is important and we can’t control it in all ways but we set certain safeguards — how the life of this young woman plays out in a culture of school setting (when her status is below the status occupied by the boys ). And for older girls, a similar theme is in Jon Krakauer’s book Missoula that I recommended to my niece who attends community college in the Seattle area.
These vile individuals who perform on a stage with their vitriol exposed reminds us of a lot of things: yes, it is in the culture ; it is racial prejudice not just in the south (as we northerners have been known to project)…. Some incidents in schools lately have been totally overlooked but others are in the public press and schools have taken remedial steps in some cases. Some sports teams are taking stands and many are explaining that they don’t use that kind of “locker room” jargon… but we know there are those who do . It is similar to when our high school students start modeling their behaviors on “ganga” and behaviors of prisoners … one of the reasons for school uniforms (I remember this being discussed in Lawrence MA) was that the gang colors would not be on display in the schools as “fashion ads”. Teachers are in a prominent position to help students discern and make differentiations among these different perspectives (and behaviors)…. and that will have enormous influence. Duane insisted on his freedom and right to “cuss”. my nephew wears 4 letter insults in tattoos in cyrrilic alphabet but it is still insultng … what private behaviors or behaviors in small groups of friends in your own home are permitted while not appropriate in public venues? These are a lot of areas where parents and teachers can be very direct if they are mature adult role models. Can’t leave everything up to elected officials to pass a new law It bothers me when Boston has to pass a law on no “up skirting” where that should be a cultural standard and something that is part of the agreed upon rules of living together in a ciivil society –the fact that it has to be a “law” is bothersome to me (but I understand how we got to this point)

We can watch Christie close the GW bridge, God only knows what Trump will do to target political enemies. It would be refreshing to see Democrats just use the legal means available to them when dealing with the right. Is there any doubt how the stand off in Oregon would have been resolved had it been Black militants and a republican administration. Never mind look how Occupy was resolved by a Democratic President.

The permanent civil service people refer to the political appointees as the”Christmas help.” There are always a few who manage to burrow in and get civil service jobs. I found most of the high-ranking civil servants to be very knowledgeable and dedicated. Some will have a hard time working for strums appointees because so many of the Trumpsters hate the function of the agency to which they are assigned.

Paladino is the unvarnished face of school rephorm.
In 2010, the WSJ reported on Paladino’s well-publicized confession that he had a child born out of wedlock, “a fact everyone in the family knew for years, except Mrs. Palladino.” The article continues that Carl “pulled his wife aside” at their adult son’s funeral, to tell her about the affair and child. If Pres. Obama was the kind of man that Paladino is, he’d “hope for Paladino’s gullible wife to return to her ancestor’s soil, with ‘so many children, they didn’t know what to do’ ” (Paladino’s wife has 9 siblings.) He’d “hope she would take up with a man, who like Trump has kids with 3 different women, or like Carl, who has kids with 2 different women”. Obama would “hope that that she found a lying, bigoted Latin lover, to dominate her”. Paladino’s “hopes” for Michele were total fabrications. On the other hand, Obama’s speculated “hopes” for the wife of Paladino….
