Investigative journalist David Sirota reviews the issues that ExxonMobil has lobbied the State Department for.
ExxonMobil wants sanctions lifted on Russia and Iran because it wants to do business there. It has also lobbied for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which Trump opposed during the campaign.
If Rex Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil and lifelong employee of the vast corporation, is confirmed as Secretary of State, will he give his company what they want?

Where’s the bucket so I can puke?

Conflicts of interest dystopia, conflicts of greed and avarice. Which greed should be fed first? So many yawning maws of corporate gluttony to be fed.

Perhaps when this particular hydra grows too many mouth-wide-open heads it will destroy itself — or perhaps out of a simple but immovable selfishness, prohibit ANY maw from getting nourishment. We can hope.

Yes, ciedie, but the hydra of mythology was only finally destroyed by Heracles (Hercules), with the help of his nephew Iolaus, by burning each stump after cutting off each head, because simply just cutting off a head led to two more growing in its place.
(Sorry, what can I say? I’m of Greek ancestry and grew up on these myths.)
The hydra didn’t destroy itself. Where is our Heracles? We desperately need one.

Tillison’s life has been centered around maximizing Exon Mobil’s profit for the shareholders on an annual basis (return on investment). Exon Mobil is the “king” of the global fossil fuel industry. He knows we are at/near a tipping point where alternative energy will rapidly erode the profitability of the extraction industry. (Some reports suggest within 10 years) Thus the rush to extract as much as possible as quickly as possible. His appointment reflects ( in real time) the practical merger of corporations with the government/state to maximize corporate profits, the impact on the environment & regular people globally be damned. Where better to effectuate this corporate agenda than from the position of Secretary of State.

The merger of state, corporations, and military is the definition of fascism.
