The charter industry in California never has a shortage of money or will for power. It spent more than $19 million on legislative races and won almost all of the ones it sought to purchase. After the results came in, charter industry spokesmen gloated that voters were on their side.
If they really believed that, they wouldn’t have to spend so much to buy seats.

With Trump in power, the California Charter School Association can celebrate the advance of privatization.

Privatized schools fit perfectly into Trump’s agenda. It accomplishes many things. One, it creates the resegregation of our schools and thus our society, and the ability to control what is taught and how it is taught. We also can’t forget that privatizing equals profits. If this isn’t a perfect storm to destroy our democracy, I don’t know what is.

They bought both my State Senator and State Assembly member. I got fliers almost daily from the 501(c)(4) for EdVoice, their PAC, bashing the Assembly candidate’s opponent. When asked about it, he said he didn’t know anything about the negative ads and had nothing to do with them – but did nothing to disavow any of them. A real profile in courage and apparently the type of candidate our corrupt system is selecting for – win at all costs. I guess Jerry Brown held the line for them by vetoing any meaningful reforms until they could buy the Legislature and thereby squelch the possibility of any oversight. Meanwhile, there are almost daily scandals involving these schools.

And so you have it- the Alliance between Republicans and Democrats.
Charters and money, money, money……Both political parties have at least this in
common.
New York State and CA have that in common.
Why are people voting these people into POWER?
