Mercedes Schneider reviews Teach for America’s finances, and the organization is awash in cash. It’s latest tax form shows that it has $445 million in assets. It spent $1 million lobbying federal and state officials to protect its interests. It created a political action arm called Leadership for Educational Excellence, to train its recruits for leadership positions in which they can push for privatization and undercut unions and real teacher education.
But what all that money can’t stop is the continuing and precipitous drop in recruits. What happens to TFA if no one wants to join and be a temp teacher? What will they do with all that money?

To answer your questions:
Hopefully fold up and go away.
and
Take the money and run a la:

They are developing a political machine built on TFA alums that is designed to infiltrate and take over the public school boards across the nation. Slowly, quietly, they are working their plan

It is up to alert citizens that value public education to stop them, just like those that halted the privatizers in this election cycle. The fact that smart young people are catching on the exploitative dead end job that TFA represents is a plus. We have to focus on stopping the existing zombie army of TFA.

Yes. And make sure this is widely understood.

TFA can always turn to the drop-out scholars who voted Trump into office. Many of those high school grads and drop outs would be more than willing to become teachers and spread the work of their god, tRUMP.

Not to get into it, but Trump may just provide some relief from Obama’s last 8 years of charter rah rah. He is not keen on common core (which in all honesty is dying its own death without help from anyone). If Trump manages to get education returned to the states, and gets the federal government out of it…there is hope.
I don’t know if you’re insulting Trump voters – as you called them drop-out scholars and high school grads – who’d be wiling to become teachers ….to spread work of their god, Trump? WTF?
I didn’t vote Trump, but I didn’t vote for Clinton either – it didn’t matter because she won my state. I was willing to vote 3rd party regardless, and make peace with whoever won. I do believe Hillary would have been Obama on steroids. We’ll never know. But, I look forward to Trump taking education out of the federal government’s hands, if he does indeed do that.

Therlo, “WTF?”
Yes, I am insulting everyone that voted for Trump. We still have the 1st Amendment, don’t we? That’s what I think, and I doubt that I’m going to change my mind. For that to happen, Trump would have to shed his 70 year old skin and become a totally different person that actually cares about someone else and this country.

You called his supporters high school grads and dropouts who would be more than willing to become teachers – that is where I don’t get your train of thought. Meanwhile, Hillary has also proven that she cares about no one but herself, and her bank account. to the great detriment of many, and the deaths of several. Either way…that you insulted Trump voters in the same sentence as they’d be willing to become teachers escapes me. Have a good day, Lloyd. I have no beef with you.

I suggest they fold, and return what monies are left to our federal government. I never voted for monies to be gifted to TFA. During the last government closure, monies were gifted to TFA. I will never understand it. I want my money back.
