The phony Relay Graduate School of Education” has received authorization from several state willing to make a mockery of graduate study in education. Few, if any, of the “faculty” have doctorates. Relay consists of charter teachers giving faux master’s degrees to other charter teachers, without a library, nwithout scholars, without research. Lest we forget, “scholars” are little children, not people who have devoted their lives to study of a field.
Mercedes Scheider reports good news. Pennsylvania said “scram” to Relay. No phony graduate schools wanted. Beat it. You are not wanted in the Keystone State. Those of us who worked years for our degrees say, “Thank you, Pennsylvania!”

Diane,
Thanks for posting links to the most recent journal publications that cover Dark Money-spending disguised as philanthropy as well as how national standards in America are anti-democratic, especially this latter one whose author shared the free link. These two pieces are EXTREMELY valuable and well-researched and illustrate the mechanisms of how the democratic will of the public is subverted by the Oligarchs.

Ranking the worth of various fields of study seems like a slippery slope for ed reformers.
They probably rank the “hard sciences” at the top and they all but worship economics, but what about all the other degrees?
Where do they rank “journalism” or “political science”? Worthy or not worthy? What about “marketing” or “business”? There are actually a HUGE number of business majors. Does that degree need “disruption”?

No need to disrupt business majors. They already work for corporate masters. Gates and company only need to disrupt public endeavors they seek to destroy and from which they seek to squeeze profit. These “reformers” love to collect data, but they fail to see the handwriting on the wall. Every bad idea they have had has failed to produce anything of lasting merit.

The rankings are determined by post graduation salaries. Georgetown Center for Education & the Workforce determined the economic value of college majors. Guess which majors contribute the most dollar value by earning $3.4 million more than the lowest paying majors over a lifetime? If you guessed Business you are correct.

Diane,
Thanks for posting the articles a couple days ago about how national standards are anti-democratic (with a shout-out to the person who allowed free access to it) as well as the one on how Dark-Money spending in the name of “philanthropy” is deliberately and intentionally subverting the democratic will of the public. These two pieces are well-researched and EXTREMELY important in illustrating the mechanics of the Ed Privateer/Corporate Reform hoax.

Aren’t university accrediting boards the same embarrassing failures that the bond rating agencies were, during the financial crisis that almost brought down the nation?

So with these completely general arguments against Relay, one could perhaps go back to Tennessee, and revise Relay’s approval to roam in the state.
Can this be done?

I wonder if this PA verdict will serve as a precedent for other states.
