To get a measure of Donald Trump, read about his meetings with Republican members of the Senate and the House.
He insulted those who had not supported him. He threatened retaliation. He expressed ignorance of the Constitution. He was rude and crude. He was Donald Trump.

What if Trump doesn’t want to be president and his run for president has all been a scam, a game to him, to boost the value of his brand, and his brand is his name?
After all, The Donald thinks his name alone is worth $3 billion. After all the attention he’s gained running for president, will he double that value or triple it?
This guy is a delusional spoiled fruit cake and he probably thinks the world is Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

Agreed. I think Trump has no desire or intention to serve as president, but to get rich off the campaign and his increased name recognition. If elected, I predict he will do a “Sarah Palin” and resign.

Yes, I think the odds favor that he will resign when the Congress and Supreme Court won’t do exactly what he wants. And when he resigns, he will incite riots and violence among his racist followers across the country. I wonder if Trump plays the fiddle like the myth of Nero when Rome burned.

What, like Trump is some kind of mole in the Republican ranks? Shades of the film “The Departed.”

Don’t want to make myself a tinfoil hat, but what if Bill actually wanted/wants Hillary to lose so that he could be the only “President Clinton”?
Okay, okay, I’m getting out the Reynold’s Wrap now. 😉

What if Bill talked to Trump to urge, manipulate, him to run because the Clinton’s ran a simulation that said HRC could beat Trump but might lose to one of the other GOP candidates. It isn’t as if Trump is a dark horse with little or no knowledge about how his mind works.
And the same simulation took into account the ratio of far right extremists ripe for someone like Trump.
It doesn’t take much effort to come up with a profile for Trump to discover he is the perfect storm for all the fools on the far right and the perfect candidate to turn the rest of the country against.

Lloyd, that’s not outside the realm of possibility, either. Bill and company have to know just how big Donald’s ego is and how easy he would be to flatter.
And Bill is nothing if not a master manipulator.
Wheels within wheels. We could probably go on all day with scenarios. 😀

The U.S. has survived Tricky Dick, then the Dark Prince from Hollywood followed by the Bush Wars and now we have the Clever Clintons. Geeze! How much of this shit can the U.S. survive and stay a participatory Constitutional republic?
Does the word ‘capitalism’ appear anywhere in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution? There should have been a clause in the Constitution about separation of corporate capitalism and the state. Then the conservative dominated Supreme Court, before the death of Scalia, would have never ruled in favor of Citizens United turning corporations into citizens.
The next step would have been turning robots into citizens that would be programed by corporations to vote a certain way.
Imagine Trump’s daughter running as his VP candidate and Hillary running with Bill as her’s.

I do worry about just how long the USA can indeed stay a Constitutional Republic.
We are already moving (have moved) way into an oligarchy.
The thing that always astounds me is how easy many voters are to manipulate, and how many of them consistently vote against their own self interests. 😦

The voters that repeatedly vote in a way to support the oligarchy that is quickly replacing the constitutional republic is based on the fear and hate stirred up by the far right hate media machine. Most decisions are based on emotion and not logic so those who are easiest to fool and move into a constant state of fear/hate are the ones supporting an agenda that in the end will not be in their own interests but by the time they wake up, if they wake up, it will be too late to shift into reverse. Knowing the far right hate/fear media machine, it will just blame someone else and not the source of the oligarch’s agenda.

I’m always on the lookout for worthwhile material including films to use in my government classes. Years ago a student told me about a movie called Idiocracy. “Hey, Mr. O., you have GOT to see this one!)
Let me say clearly right now that I quickly decided that I could NOT show Idiocracy in class. It only took the first few minutes when I screened it to make that decision. It’s very inappropriate for school and no amount of editing could change that fact.
To quote from Wikipedia’s description: “Idiocracy is a 2006 American satirical science fiction comedy film directed by Mike Judge and starring Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph, and Dax Shepard. The film tells the story of two people who take part in a top-secret military hibernation experiment, only to awaken 500 years later in a dystopian society where advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant and that is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.”
Come to find out that I didn’t have to go into hibernation for 500 years to wake up in
that sort of dystopian society. I just turn on the news in the evening and there he is, the Donald, blabbering on in his ignorant, babyish way. The Washington Post article linked above described how Trump vowed to protect Article XII in the U.S. Constitution -which, of course, does not exist.
Wow. “Rep. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) left the meeting worried about Trump’s grasp on the basics of the Constitution,” according to the Post.
I recommend that all Republicans watch Idocracy. Immediately. This is the type of future you are enabling. What a sad, sad day for your political party…and, tragically, our nation.

There are very powerful people in this country who realize under no circumstances can Donald Trump become president of the United States. And if they know it, so does Trump.

If Hillary and her supporters could understand why Trump is so popular, we might not have to worry about Trump. But rather than listen to the genuine pain that people are experiencing because of establishment policies, it’s just a lot easier to dismiss his supporters as ignorant racists (and, indeed, some are, but certainly not all). Hillary could walk away with this election in a landslide if she would simply listen. Bernie, bless him, is still trying to do her a favor rather than walk away from her and lead his own movement. But she prefers to spit in his face. If she loses this election and we’re saddled with this arrogant @$$ (assuming he doesn’t find a way to abdicate sometime before November), it will be on Hillary and her supporters.

This argument is completely nonsensical. Hillary has not spit in Bernie’s face, figuratively or otherwise; rather, he is showing her a lack of respect by not endorsing her long after he lost the delegate count. Your comment is a perfect example of this. Bernie is not doing anything to encourage his supporters to vote for the only sane candidate in November and avoid a disastrous Trump presidency. If Bernie supporters sit out the election, it will be on them if Hillary loses!

Typical Hillary supporter. Her Highness is owed the presidency and anyone who dares to stand in Her way is to be stepped on or shoved out of the way.
Good luck in November with that attitude – the very reason many of us will not vote for her, come Trump or highwater.

While Trump dissed Congress, Democratic congressmen booed Sanders for not getting behind their Corporate, Charter School lovin’ candidate – Hillary Clinton.
The Establishment is rotted to the core. Hillary will NOT make things better for public education. She will treat us the same way Obama has. Lying comes just as naturally to her as it does to the Orange blowhard propelled by the MSM to the top of the R ticket.
If enough people would not self-limit to the LOTE, we could prove the pundits wrong. (Yes, I know I’m dreaming.) I have lived through enough decades of elections, and I will no longer base my vote on LOTE.
Jill Stein will be my choice again, just like she was in 2012.

Janet you are right on the money, Trump appears to be is running for president for financial gain. For some time I have been thinking if the GOP would offer a buy out for him to walk, he would take it in a heart beat.

Indeed, rude and crude Donald Trump.
It does seem as though he might be deliberately trying to lose this election.
OTOH, his ego is so big (and his skin is so thin), that he may well have started out with the idea that he could run for awhile, get a lot of publicity, and then use that publicity for his new TV shows, books, and companies, in order to further enrich himself.
And then, when it seemed as though he was going to actually win the Republican nomination, his ego took over, and there we have it.
He’s extremely spoiled and ego-driven.
Who knew that so many Republican Primary voters could be so easily deluded? Well, yes, it’s not all that surprising. But it’s really sad.
